    Default Nishijin A questions

I recently started restoring an old Nishijin type A pachinko machine and was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of questions. The play tray is broken and I was wondering if anyone has a tray from another machine that they would be willing to sell. I was also curious about replacing the rubber bouncer that I believe someone installed over the ball return to bounce the ball back into play, any suggestions. Finally, I would like to get the lights up and running, I have the original transformer in place and was wondering if it could be wired so that I could just plug the machine in to an outlet. Thanks for the help.

    First, Welcome Twowheeled to Pachitalk

Second, yes you can wire a transformer so it can be plugged in. Have no idea if you can use the original one, because we do not know what type it is.

Third, there are people who have part machines that "might" be able to help you. You will have to patient with that request. Some of them only check in every now and then.

A detailed shot of that transformer would be a plus. Also, unless there are ratings on the transformer, I wouldn't plug it in with it still connected to the pachinko. Disconnect at least one wire and connect that to a voltmeter and check the output when it's plugged in. Probably shouldn't be more than 8VAC, I believe.

Thanks for the help. I have been having fun cleaning this machine up and playing with the mechanics. Here is a better picture of the transformer and the wiring. What do you think would happen if i wired a plug to the transformer and plugged it in? Went to a plastic store today and bought two sheets of acrylic for 17$ to replace the flexible piece of plastic that was in there, this has really improved the play and amount of noise coming from the machine. Has anyone had problems with the weighting on the jackpot payout? I placed some weight on one side of the seesaw so that after it drops the jackpot it returns the seesaw faster so the ball don't jam. Or is this just me finding a ghetto fix for something that can be solved more eloquently?

The bumper can be replaced with an inside ring polishing wheel for jewelry making, they are less than a $1.00 each and can be purchased from jewelry supply stores. They come in pink or blue. They need to be cut to length but the diam. is close to the orginal

There isn't any reason you shouldn't be able to use that transformer, but the output voltage will be a little higher with a 120VAC input (about 12V instead of 10V). Just need to make sure the bulbs can handle it. 12V bulbs should be easy to get at Radio Shack.
