    Default Wiring Question

    Quick question

If I connect the Black wire to the Green/Red wire ( Not labled) coming from the soundboard at their ends and connect both to the Negative terminal of the Left speaker and..

Connect the 2 Green wires at their ends and connect them directly to the Neg Terminal of the right speaker.

Would that give the same results as splicing the wires as shown in the diagram?

If not, which of the spliced wires would go directly to the speaker terminals.

    Thx

Yes, connecting the wires at the neg terminal is the same as connecting them at the splice point. You still have to cut the positive wires and splice as shown.

    THx

I made the connections last night directly to the terminals using female crimp connector blades for a cleaner installation. I hate using wire nuts they look real primitive. LOL

The system seems to be working fine I just wanted to be sure that I was using the LPad to its fullest. IE no unwanted power getting to the speakers.

More simplified schematic that I used. 48 L-Pads installed and they have not caused a "Black Hole"

I have that schematic and it is for One speaker.

The diagram I posted has 2 speakers and an Lpad specifically for 2 speakers.

My L Pad might even cause a Black Hole because it is so advanced!

A Stereo L-Pad, (2 sets of three terminals) would be wired the same way to each speaker using each set of 3 lug terminals on the L-Pad.

You should never connect the ground wires together on these amps. They are independent channels. You may burn up your amp if you connect the ground wires together or try to share one ground. If you want to cut corners, you can connect the L-Pad in the same way as the standard trim pot; using only two wires. It is not ideal because it doesn't keep an 8 ohm load on the amp, but it's better than connecting the ground wires together or sharing one ground.
