I think you still do Chris... it really looks like it is wanting to do something else during that moment of hesitation. Especially if there is still a clicking sound. Take it apart again and see if that makes a difference (Yeah, easy for me to say )

Havn't forgot, just been a busy weekend... I think mine very smoothly opens the and closes the jaws twice. The spastic flickery movement doesn't look right... Hmm, when I get home I'll check it again, maybe I can video it with my camera.

The way the eye flickered on Dice's before he fixed it definitely didn't look right. That must be the motor trying to make it do what it's supposed to do... Now you have the jaws, but they don't look like they are 'chomping' correctly...

I've only hit a fever on my machine once, but I've seen the jaws several times. I think it's just certain reaches do it. Still haven't had a chance to sit with it... Should be able to tonight though.

I did notice that in all the videos that show the eye moving up, There is a clicking sound as the teeth are in view. maybe a gear is mis-aligned or something. Odd that it would make that clicking noise.

its not odd if its barely engaging the jammed gear and clicking past it .

I am going in to play now, but I hit a fever and didn't see them ;( but I "blew" the bonus, by not shooting balls ><

they appeared in like the 5th and 12th round. I have found in the past if you blow the fever by not shooting balls another one follows right behind.

Bleh LOL hit the start pocket 204 times in the last hour, and only like 3 reaches. Battle counter showing 1/423 atm so I could still be 2-300 spins away from a fever.

After I blew the fever on Sunday, I went into 100 spin HP mode, and didn't get another fever. Looks like this one's gonna be stubborn.

I just wanna see the jaws... other than at startup I mean. I am hoping that , like you, getting the mech working will be enough to at least see them.

I/we can tackle the chomping later

Okay, finally got to play with my machine a little... Here's a video of the start up sequence. This seems to be the correct action the game should perform. Mine doesn't click or anything, just some nice, smooth movements of the jaw and teeth.

YouTube - Jurassic Park Pachinko Power-up Sequence

And this is one of the Reaches featuring the T-Rex. That was the only time I saw the jaws, but they didn't chomp, they just sort of appeared. I know there's another Reach where they actually chomp once or twice too, but I didn't see it tonight. Also note the 'barrier breaking' animatronics work in this Reach too.

I think the audio might be kind of loud on this, so turn your volume down first...

Now that I've figured out I can actually take respectable videos with my little camera, I may do more of them...

Bad news. Billy JP is back to the way it was in the first two videos I posted. From what I can see its not a jammed gear, they move freely. Its the motor its self. The motor stem turns a little then starts slipping. Like the stem is not making good contact with whatever is inside the motor making it turn.
So now what? I'm pretty sure the chances of finding a part are slim to none. Any suggestions?

Most of the motors that I've encountered in pachinko machines are stepper motors, on this type of motor it will appear to slip or judder if the physical load on the motor is too great (ie something is either jammed or just not moving freely enough in the mechanism).

You can easily identify if it is a stepper motor as it will have 5 or 6 wires coming out of it, whereas a regular motor usually only has two wires.

Nothing is jammed. I can remove the motor and the mech moves up and down freely. The stem coming out of the motor is not attached correctly. I can physically turn it and there is no resistance then it will catch for a second then it lose it resistance again.
It looks like a small tin can stepper motor. part # NPM PFCU25-24251G.
I work with stepper motor, and I know how rare it is for one to actually go bad but I do believe this one has an issue.
