Awsome. That's a great design for cell swapping...A lot faster than my Lumina Frame Star Wars/Indiana Jones.

    Hi Chrish,
Yes I also think the same as you : that alarm is really to loud and it is not funny at all WHY do they make such a stupid sound in a pachinko machine ??? anyway my Japanese contact did sent me some pictures and suggested to install volumecontrols on this machine.. I`m study them now because I do not understand how to install them (long story ) will post them later and if all is clear I will explain this to you all

PS : I also did sent the pictures to Arby maybe he knows what they mean ? , still no reply ...

    Hi,

can anybody tell me, who is Arby, please?
I've heard about him a couple of times in this forum now, so I'm just curious.

And yes, this thread was more than 290 days old - don't forget that if you answer

    Hi all ,
Ok here are some pictures for you , I just did read my emails better from my Japanese friend and he told me that I need to install 3 volumepots ...
the reason why I didn`t understand him was because he showed me on picture 3 only 1 volumepot while they cut 2 grey wires ? everyone understands that if you cut 2 sound wires you need to install 2 volumepots so they second one was probably hanging below .

The red connector (responsible for the 2 upper speakers and the squall ) is located on the left side behind the frontdoor of the Kyoraku machine , cut the 4th grey wire from the left and install a volumepot between , do the same with the 5th grey wire from the left , please hold the connector exactly the same as on the picture !!! so the red wire on the connector should be hold to left and then count to the right
To install volumecontrol for the bass speaker isn`t that difficult (picture 1 ) it`s also behind the frontdoor on the bottom right ,personal I think it`s better to install a resistor ... it`s much easier because it is very difficult to adjust a bass speaker is my experience , now your done

Before you turn on this machine you have to adjust your 2 volumpots down and after that stupid squall is over you can turn your volumpots up and enjoy

Agreed... the volume on the SIREN varies from cell to cell, so you really do have to turn the volume OFF for each boot sequence if you don't want to hear the it >< . I swear that some of the cells IGNORE the volume controls when the siren is going off

Truth be told... I just hold my ears... it's too much trouble to re-adjust the volume each time I turn them on (oh I have to Big Bang frames BTW) !!!

    Hi ,
This could be true what you are saying but the squall noise is coming from the upper speakers .. as told before you probably have to turn the volumepots down before starting the pachinko ..
Anyway I will install them tomorrow and will share you and other members my experience .

Okay well... Here is how Installed mine, and they work GREAT I just can't be bothered to ...

    -- Open the door
    -- Turn the volume down
    -- Power up
    -- Wait
-- Stick my head between the door and outside the door while the reels spin to get the volume tuned just right for the cell I am using (for the two speakers in the door and the woofer that is inside the frame)
-- Then close the door and play

For every time I power up

Maybe someday, I will move all the volume controls OUTSIDE THE MACHINE. Then it would be much more convenient

I just open the door and unplug the Red plug, turn power on and wait 30 seconds, plug it back in and I'm good to go.

LOL , yes that is also a option but I do not think that if a customer will come by and tell him to do this everytime he wants to play his Jaws machine he still will be interested in this option there must be a option to turn this squall totally off .. maybe Dave Rob could find a answer on this problem ??

I don't have any Kyoraku machines at the moment. If I had one then my solution would be a small circuit board with a relay to completely cut the sound for the first 30 seconds after power on. I'd probably use a PIC10F microcontroller to generate the delay (as they're cheaper than building a discrete timing circuit).

While I'm thinking about it, I expect I'd stick a couple of volume control pots on the circuit board just to annoy the L-Pad fans .

    Hi Dave ,
I was thinking today the same as you (great minds think alike ) : how to get rid off that anoying squall , so I thought I just hook up 2 switches on the upper speakers and make them outside or close to the frontdoor , before you start your machine I turn both switches to "off" and as soon as the gamemode is there just turn both switches to "on" , easy enough eh ??

For sound : there is a black switch on the backside of the machine and they work great so there is no need to install volumepots at all .

    Regards Dragonfly

It'd be SO much easier with a L-pad... HA! Just stirring the pot (oh, that was bad). I have my L-pad knobs sticking out the bottom of my elevated cabinets, so it's easy to adjust during game play. You could just install a double toggle switch so you don't have to mess with the volume pots and balancing the levels every time.
