    Default Follow-up to Spiderman question...

I bought the machine along with three others from mark1120 today so I have a follow-up to this here.

So the part of the operation where the red web moves back and forth on startup is normal. What isn't is the loud grinding sound as well as the web only moving halfway at best and I think I found the source. It would seem that the LCD unit is dislodged somehow and the motor is resting directly on the below unit.

Can anyone explain how to remove each unit so that I might re-seat (hopefully) the main LCD?

Or is there another solution I'm missing...

most boards just pop into place or have a tab that must be turned.

I had a few lcd screens that came loose in shipping and I could just pop them right back in.

Suppose I'll just fiddle with it then... I think I'm going to have to remove the bottom board to get room first though.

Ok... I removed the top two screws from the LCD and managed to fit it into place.

The motor is quiet now and works as intended. Unfortunately... Now I have to figure out why I have an Error Code 1...

    Any suggestions?

    EDIT:

LCD works. Ball in center pocket starts video reels... Balls do not drop out the back. That could be an issue. ^^

I don't know what a code 1 is, but, if you have a red reset button near the on off switch, try holding it for about 10 seconds while turning the pachinko on.

Solved the ball back slot problem by finding and fixing a jam...

As for the Error Code 1... I tried holding the reset button for 10 seconds while turning it on and got a very definitive: "Spider RAM clear" in non-native English.

Sadly, it didn't remove the code and only served to make continuous siren noises. Turning it off and back on again turned off the speaker sirens.

Hmm... I don't have any balls in the payout bucket. I suppose the 1 could be a 7 in other machines. I'll try filling that now.

Alright! Seems to be in good working order now. Thank you luckydog.

I can do some more comprehensive tests on all of them tomorrow... When it's not midnight in an apartment building.

That having been said... with the exception of New Road Construction, the volume controls work very nicely on the others. I just need to set up a quick rubber mat for ball catching and depositing (in line with threads previously posted on the subject).

On Takao 'Hornet' frame machines, error code '1' is 'Hopper empty or blockage on upper hopper rail'. A zero on the error code display is 'Normal operation'.

For future reference, I have the Lumina frame guide, but is there a Takao Hornet guide floating out there in English?

(I speak some Japanese, but my reading comprehension is that of a three-year old.)

Not that I know of. I have just received a copy of the Japanese manual for the original Hornet frame (Spiderman is in the 'New Hornet' frame and so has some differences). I will be working on scanning and translating it when I get the time.

Not much different from myself then. I can read the kana characters and a handful of Kanji, but most of it needs to be looked up in a dictionary.
