I went to leave feedback for some stuff i got on E-bay and this Came up

Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

• You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings.

Yeah I noticed that recently too...

also my feed back score shot up by over 20 overnight...

Must have a new way of calculating it??

Yes, we have talked about that. I personally think that it is a wonderful thing. Most sellers are honest hard working people. But there are a few losers (VG) who in the past would try and blackmail you into not giving them negatives. Of course, it never stopped me. But it would piss me off that they would even try.

So what happens when you have a deadbeat bidder who doesn't pay, and then leaves you a negative when you file non pay against him?

I think I have been really lucky in that I have never needed to give
a negative or even a neutral feedback to anyone...

But I can imagine the problems that could occur...

They don't care, as long as they get their money.

Yes, ebay can block them from bidding on the site until it's resolved.
But they can still leave the neg and open a new account under a different name.

I have Positive Feedback: 100% now it was at 99.3% and it shot up as they count all feedback if some one was nolonger a e-bay member it was not counted in the past . i guess its all good for the buyer but maybe not for the seller

Feedback now only goes back 12 months, so if you have no negs in the last 12, You get 100%.
They also allowed feedback from multiple item buyers to show as more than one feedback, that's why everyone's feedback total went up.

my main account has 736 positives and 1 neutral the buyer gave by mistake in the last 12 months.
my feedback rating is 99.8%

on my second account it has 15 positives and 1 negative for a lost uninsured package in the last 12 months
my feedback rating there is 100%

the guy that gave the negative is still an ebay customer

it doesn't make sense, it must be the new math!!!

It's good and bad. Good for the buyer, and mostly bad for the seller. An honest seller now has to rely on eBay to regulate the buyers; where the sellers were able to warn each other in the form of feedback in the past. eBay has been screwing things up steadily for about the last 4 years. It seams the larger they get the more money they want, and the less they care about what we want.

I think it is a good thing as a recent purchase from a seller was not good and I said so. Then I got a email from the seller trying to get me to change my feedback to positive if he would do the same for me. That is strictly against E-Bay rules but it goes on anyway. When a buyer pays for something immediately then he should get a good feed back immediately and not have to wait until after he leaves a good one for the seller before he gets one!

Well after years of using ebay I left my first negative feedback ever. I tried to resolve with seller time and time again but after reading all his negative and neutral feedbacks thanks to PachiTalk I decided not to bother fighting him through ebay or paypal and just leave him negative feedback. Well it didn't go over well he emailed me, I guess because he couldn't leave me negative feedback. This is what he had to say:

YOUR FEEDBACK REALLY IS GOING TO DO ALOT. THANK YOU, WE APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION. WILL BE CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU EVER SELL ANYTHING. WILL BE THE YOUR 1ST BUYER.



I returned that email with a few kind words myself.
