I for one am partial to Sharmoni's first one. I think it would do great and it highlights the Japanese origins without caricaturizing them with a mostly americanized asian preconception. AND having done promotions which required Branding and Embroidering in the past (WWW.JAXJAM.COM),
I think maybe using the outline as the logo and changing the color/effects/etc seasonally, and randomly as needed makes a LOT of sense.

Here's another one. I'm not sure which order of token and ball I prefer. It might be able to vary.

can you simulate the Ball etchings and change it to the first font you tried? I Love the bi-metal token Idea (Just because I like em) but the ball and Logo leave me bland. I would buy 10k of the tokens to standardize my show units. (Having our own Balls and Tokens made might be a way to help support the site) in an aside to the New Logo and concept behind it.

Great, great idea teqkng! I really had fun designing a ball and token pattern. I found a better font that works well around a curve and looks a lot like Katakana capitals and Hiragana lowercase.

For me design is a process of successive iterations. You can look back through my designs and see the changes that lead to this version. I'm satisfied with what I've ended up with, and I really need to get back to cleaning my machines, so for now I'm going to stop.

I've made replacement jpgs for the banner, in case Sid wants to test drive them. Otherwise you can see the mock-up. I also have attached a larger version of the token so you can see all the print around the edges.

All my files are based on vectors, so if any wealthy member wants to make custom token and balls, I'll be glad to supply you with the patterns. I would think they could make a good fund raiser for the forum and could be sold in the auction as well as on eBay.

Ok now lets see it with the etchings gold filled and the tokens two tone. This looks GREAT! who else thinks so? Oh and whatever sid and the group decide we need to post the font used on the site...

    Well Definately some great ideas

Thanks to everyone who is sending in their suggestions!

once everything has wrapped up we can spend a week or so trying out the different logos on a test run and then have the final vote in mid July...

Keep up the good work people!

I'm keeping this simple for the sake of the banner design. Keep in mind that it would not be affordable to produce these balls or tokens with two metals, so don't get attached to the designs.

Now I really need to get cleaning my machine so don't give me any more good ideas!

I've seen this kind of thing with paint in the grooves to make the design stand out. Would take a while but it would work with tokens (need less) to bake it in the grooves.

A lot of shops are making Bi metal tokans cheaper, because the metal is that much cheaper and they are easy to produce. I am in love with the design and as soon as my rentals are back after the summer lull in florida I am going to order 10k If anyone wants to piggyback an order It might just make the per unit cost go down.

Rather than the raised gold lettering—which I did to graphically balance the ball on the opposite side of the banner and to make the PT more readable—you'll probably want to go with something like this, a more classic bimetal style.

That first one was oh, so close to making it but I never figured out what the castle was for?

That was certainly more the style I was looking for though.
