Default HI all. (Tomb Raider content)

Hello. I'm new here, but happy I found this forum.
I'm from Denmark, and I just got my first machine, a Tomb Raider from U.K. Now it's up and running, but what a mess in the start. Bought it off ebay, seller used DHL for shipping, and when it arrived, it was almost falling apart when I opened the box. It's assembled with clamps in back/sides, and someone at DHL must have thoght it was a soccer football, it was kicked around so back & sides of the cabinet was almost apart. reel housing, coin mechanism, video housing was lying randomly inside. Hopper, 220V adaptor + tokens came in a separate package so they were not involved in the mess, thank god. I nearly sended the thing back, but after looking at it, I decided I might restore it myself. After all, filing complaints with seller/DHL seemed a tougher task. So I re-arranged where the sides/back should be, and hammered the clamps back into place. Then I screwed lots of wood screws into th back to make it stable again. After this I was able to open the front door and figure out what part was supposed to be in what place. Luckily nothing was broken inside or outside. When I tested the thing, It worked just fine.
Phew! Only the reels is making noise (electromagnetic hum) but that's common as far as I understand here?
Otherwise, I am happy with my first pachislo and I think this is a great forum.

Welcome to Pachitalk Sweiger. I am glad to here that your machine is working. It must have been an upsetting thing to see it in that condition.

    Hello, and welcome to PachiTalk!

Glad to here that you were able to get your machine up and running!

I had to do the same thing with on of the machines I ordered for a friend. FedEX did a number on it. It had broken wires, and lose parts in the bottom; not to mention the broken wood cabinet. I got it going and the seller gave me 1500 extra tokens for not making them replace it.

Do your reels make that nose with the door open? Many times they will slip forward, and rub on the door. I had a couple do that to me before.

Sorry to hear that your Tomb Raider arrived in bad condition,
I'm glad you managed to get it fixed up...

Never owned or played a Tomb Raider, so not sure if the hum is normal for these??

As in Parlours, the sound of many Pachis at full blast would drown out any usual reel noise...

Hopefully a member with that model will be able to tell you...

oh and, Welcome to PachiTalk Sweiger!!

    Thanks all. :-)
MrGoodBurn: Yes, the noise is there all the time when the reels are spinning. And others are experiencing the same. It's not machanical noise, it comes from the stepmotors, it is electromagnetic hum. The same kind as when you're standing right next to a power supply plant. Maybe it's just the quality of the motors, or maybe one can install a noise-cancelling filter (which should have been there from new then) Anyway, I will find out & post solution here.
