My father liked to garbage pick.

One day when I was about 10 we were walking along Park Ave in the 70s ,as in street,. For those that are not familiar with NYC that is the start of where the Millionares live (From the 70s up to the 90s)

Well like I said, he loved snooping in garbage cans and on the corner was a city Garbage can and lying on top was a Purple Velvet bag with a Gold draw string used for closure.

For no better term My father became all giddy and became all excited that he found something that a rich person had tossed out. Was it jewels? was it precious metals?
a Large Diamond or a Sapphire prehaps?

He was so nervous that the owner might come back to reclaim it that he wisked me around the corner to an area darkend by a tree so that he and his prize would not be seen.

Remember Indiana Jones and how he looked when he prepared to remove the Idol from the pedestal? That was my dad at that moment as he undid the Bright Gold Knot.

He peered into the gleaming lucky bag and what did he find?

I did a dumpster dive at work when we moved to a different location. I found a fully working Palm Treo 650 with active sim card. It's still active too. No idea who's paying for the service, but they still are!!

Well just an update...I received my refund today, with a note from slotusa saying sorry for the trouble. But that requested pachinko is no longer available from our supplier. And in the next email I recieved that my dispute had ended and paypal had decided in my favor and a refund will be initiated. It's a shame I had to wait so long with my money tied up, but at least I got it back, and now know where to spend my money for pachinko's!

It's a shame it took a successful paypal dispute to get them to let you know the machine they sold you didn't exist in their inventory.

I just wonder how long they would have let you twist in the wind if you hadn't put through that dispute?

Glad to hear you got your cash back. That is very bad business on slotusa's part. I can't stand people who do that to their customers. Like I said earlier; their site has been stagnant for awhile, and it's doubtful that they are truly still in business.

Found part of a frame in the dumpster (yes, I dumpster dive!)

I used to dumpster dive behind the Johnson & Johnson plant when I was young. Once I found a HUGE score of little capsules. Each had a small bead of mercury on them (bad thermometer mercury???). Just give 'em a twist to release the small bead of liquid metal and 40 or 50 of 'em filled a pill bottle.

REALLY awesome to play with mercury, but I dropped the bottle and it all seeped into the cement floor ??? Yeah weird, but that is what happened.

So it was back to the good old dumpster (bio-hazard so don't try at home) to once again fill up my pill bottle, but when one of the little capsules wouldn't open so I tried to use my teeth which opened 'er up NP at all, and WHOOPS... little bead of mercury - right down the hatch.

I don't think it had any effect on me though, I mean... I seem normal to you guys right ?
