Question 5 Questions- Error 7 on Daiichi

I bought this working Daiichi pachinko (2004, "X-Model") a few days back. During transport, the machine probably got bumped around.

Now, an error code 7 is displayed less than a second after powering up.

Question 1: Does this indicate a problem with the 'reward' ball path?

Question 2: Does this disable the shooter?

The balls in both paths empty without incident, and when empty a code 1 is shown, reverting to a 7 when refilled.

Other than the disabled shooter, the game seems to operate properly. The dongle appears to be OK physically.

Question 3: Is there a reset switch somewhere?

Question 4: Is there a wiring diagram available?

Question 5: What should I do next?

    Thanks!

Firstly the name of this machine is レレレにおまかせwhich is written in the western alphabet as 'Rerere ni omakase'. 'Omakase' is a Japanese saying meaning 'trust me' or 'leave it to us', and 'Rerere' is written in the Katakana alphabet which indicates a reading of a foreign word, so would be read as is and does not need to be translated (it could also be read as Lelele as the 'r' and 'l' sounds are interchangeable in Japanese pronunciations.

This means that this title would be more accurately translated as 'Trust the Rerere' or 'Leave it to the Rerere'. BTW the dodgy translations given by the google translation engine are not always to be trusted!

With regard to the error code problem, I don't have any info for the Daiichi 'X-model' frame, but the manual for their current 'X-Gear' frame agrees with the error code 1 for 'out of balls' so I'd suspect it's the same codes as your frame. The manual says that error code 7 means 'Card unit not present or card unit communication error', so the first thing to check is the dongle as if this is not properly connected or their is a fault in this area then you will get this error code and it will result in the shooter handle being disabled.

If the dongle appears to be OK and is connected properly, then there should be a small 1A fuse near the dongle connector that might have blown. Otherwise if you have access to a multimeter you can test for approximately 18v DC on the capacitor in the middle of the dongle to check that it is working properly.

Yes! The fuse was blown, I suspect a victim of the dongle components getting squashed against some pins.

    Many thanks!
