Arrow Reel Drum is not rotating properly

I open up my new cell, unwrap it, pull all the reel locks and tape off and set it up in my frame. I notice that the reel drum is touching on the left side of the enclosure. Look and see the the drum came off the rod, no problem open it up, re-seat it and it now spins freely.

Here is the problem. With the drum lock in place, the drum has the roulette wheel faced in front. That was how it was shipped, thats the position the lock fits, so when I put the reels back in, I make sure to have that side out.

When the machine goes into startup, the drums spins up a bit, but not all the way to the next face. Then it goes back to the roulette face, tries to go farther, makes a grinding noise, then repeats a few times till the startup ends. If I drop something in the pocket, the 6 reels spin, but they are on the backside.

I took the reels out again and when I reinstalled them, I put the 6 reel face out. It worked fine, spun correctly, even centered itself fine when turned on. I thought everything was fine.

I wanted to make sure everything was fine so I did a hard reset. It turned on, spun to the second face, then to the roulette face, then back to the second face. However, once it when back to the roulette face, it stayed there and started grinding again. It almost seems like it is not moving in one direction as far as it should.

Any ideas? I will post a video up in a bit. Thanks in advance.

I remember when CF was selling a lot of Super Stadiums that there was an issue with the reels getting messed up in shipping. I thought there was an easy fix but I did some searches and can't find any of the threads. I'll keep looking.

    Video...

Shows me just turning it on, dropping a ball in the pocket, then showing the reels spinning in the back. Finally, I turn it off, reset it and let it go through the full startup.

it has something off alright. it sounds like the gears are just slipping and it is going back and forth trying to unstick. mine spins to the wheel sits for a few seconds then spins to the reels and is done from a full reset.

not a problem Mr Cloud if you got skype or msn i will hapily video call you and sort you out its a common problem and there is 2 ways to cure it one is to dissasemble the hole darn back of the cell and takes about 45mins to 1 hour or the other is to dremmel out 2 of the railings on the clear plastic cover and realigne it through the gap a little like key hole surgery

whenever i cell a superstadium machine or cel i always dremel out that part so if anything happens in shipping then i can fix it with the customer with a long thin screwdriver or pokey object on the phone or via video call but toutch wood the only problem i get is with mine if i have been a little rough with the cell when swapping it out
My rice krispies told me to do it

The smaller reels inside the larger reel are mounted very lightly. Be prepared for at least one to be dislodged when you get it. I got the Super Stadium from Japan and the Yoon Sona from Arby and they both had the problem. Not the easiest thing to correct. A few things have to be removed to get to them, then you insert a thin screwdriver or other object to re-seat the axle in it's hole. They may not look out of kilter, but when they start to spin, look for any that just jiggle then spin.

Yeah, I tried putting them in front after reseating the drum. It worked until I turned it off. Then once I turned it on and it went through its motions, it went back to being stuck again. Hopefully I can work with Doc and get it fixed.

Well I think I got it working after talking with drcrippen. I played with it for a bit and it is rotating a bit more. I will try to get some fevers to make sure it can rotate to all faces freely and if that works close this out tomorrow. I'm glad I got it the first time... was afraid I was going to break the gears or something.

The drum is a really nice feature I would love to see a vid of it working properly.

Watching your vid I was cringing that the gears were being stripped.

I never saw that machine its very nice.

I had mine shipped from Japan and had no reel troubles. Guess that says something about the carriers.

I'm glad that with the Doc's help you were able to sort it out. How about posting a couple of pictures for posterity?
