You'll get lots of welcome and help here, that's for sure!

I read this by sharmoni post from a few days ago this morning, it sums up a lot of information about fixing up a vintage machine.

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...3&postcount=11

Do some searches too, I found out all kinds of great information here, and everyone is very helpful.
English doesn’t borrow from other languages; it follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over the head and goes through their pockets for loose grammar!

I really cant see that well from the pics but for one thing it looks as if your ball shooter mechanism is missing!!!

I also cant see if there may be an electric ball lifter mounted anywhere in the back.

Most machine do not have them and therefore do not require any power source save for some small lights.

You can easily add a 9v battery to the machine for any lighting that you any want.

You said that there is plastic warpage on the back? I cant see where from the pics.
If there is, as long as it does not hamper ball or any other mechanical movement in the back then it should not be a problem.

Maybe when you get a chance to take better photos I might be able to help you more.

    Welcome Apryl!

That's very cool looking vintage pachinko. Bill Connolly (pachinkoman.com) is restoring one like yours (Vintage Pachinko - 064 Okumura-Yuki - Liberty), so he could be a good resource.

He sells some very helpful DVDs (he calls them manuals) on restoring vintage machines. Here's an online checklist he created (Vintage Pachinko - Restoration Process). That may be overkill for your machine, which might only need a good cleaning. He also has kits for wiring the old machines so the lights work again. You can get them to light up with just a 9v battery. He also sells parts if you are missing something.

It looks like the playfield on your machine might be in pretty good condition (hard to tell from the pics—take them with a low flash at an angle to avoid glare [and remove the plexiglass], or shoot them in bright sunlight without flash). Make sure you don't clean the playfield with soap and water. That will soak into the nail holes and permanently stain the printed paper behind the laminate. Also don't use any oil on the metal parts. That will get tracked through the machine by the pachinko balls and make a big mess.

You can find a ton of info on PachiTalk. Just search for "cleaning" or "restoring" and look for related links at the bottom of the thread.

I think apryl1010 is just using all the extra periods that doc is wasting.

    Just my opinion

I didn't mind the extra... it breaks up the sentences and makes the post easier to read.
