    Default Questions on new game

    Hello,

Two questions on my new Popeye:

There is a small minus sign (-) in black on the bottom left hand side of the screen. What does this mean?

There is a large amount of "gear" noise on the "win" entry point. Under the LCD there is a moving slide piece that is making the noise. Under game play you don't even hear it, but when not in use this is pretty loud. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Millermaster1

I got that on mine too.
    I turn it off.
The machines were built for a parlor and they didn't try to make them quite when not in use.
    The (-) in the corner.
It flashes when the display goes into an animation.
I think it is some sort of register of the frames of the animation.

Maybe it is same sort indicator of "malfunction" as in Bally Williams pinballs have. If there is a small dot in the screen after the number of credits, this means there is a error report for the game (some switch does not work etc.)

Maybe the game diagnostics has noticed there's something wrong but it is not crucial and does not affect the game play any way. Because the card reader bypass or some other reason...

    It's a mode indicator (standard play/time saving/high probability)

Is there a way to disable? Do you know how to change the mode? What is the best mode for home use?

    THANKS

No way to change the mode but by playing it.

Standard mode is just normal play (the maximum odds, say 1 in 200-300+, varies by machine/spec). If you get an odd number bonus (111,333,555,777,999, usually red numbers/characters), after the bonus you go into High Probability mode, where the odds are ten times better for another bonus (1 in 20-30+). This will continue as long as you keep getting odd/red bonuses. Once you get a even/blue, your chance of another bonus after that is less. Once you get a bonus and play it out, you'll normally go into Time Saving mode or 100 spin mode where the spins are very abreviated, speeds up play.
