Watch out Ebay sellers

Not sure how I feel about this yet? As a buyer who has been burned by revenge negative feedback, I now find myself thinking twice about leaving negative or neutral feedback for fear of an unjust response even if the seller deserves a bad mark!

As a legitimate, honest seller this could be a very tough thing to deal with! We all know some people are dishonest( both selling and buying) and are out to make a fast buck. Perhaps this might thin the herd? :AR15firin

Well Honestly i think sellers blackmail buyers

once a Buyer pays he has lived up to his end of the bargain.

a seller must then rate that part of the transaction

if the buyer paid immediately why shouldnt he get his Positive feedback for a transaction?

instead have to wait until he leaves a feedback and hope that all goes well so he gets a positive.

not all sellers are like this of course, but i think its becoming the norm as apposed to the exception..

I think what ebay has to do is implement some sort of system that when a seller receives the cash automatic feedback must be given..

There are buyer that use the feed back system to black mail the seller on giving a discount and lowered shipping cost.

I have had it happen to me, so I quite leaving feed back till it is left for me.

Have the feedback be multi-part.

Payment - fast, slow, non
Communication - fast, slow, non
etc...

Actually seeing a graphical rating instead of just a sentence for each catagory would be good too.

I leave feed back right after I ship items, and take my chances of good feedback in return.

Once again... for eBay (and PayPal), it's all about the buyers.

It's as if the mindset there is:
A) We always side with buyers
B) We get rich from the sellers
C) Nobody can stop us!!!

It's not feedback in the sense it is today, but eBay should at least allow sellers to either 'recommend' or 'not recommend' a buyer.

I've noticed a lot of sellers not giving me feedback and I always pay right after the auction closes, so once I receive the item I send them an email asking them to leave me feedback and I'll do the same in return. If they don't then I don't either.

I think Ebay should allow feedback both ways.

I have never sold anything on ebay, so my view point is as a buyer. If a deal goes bad, I try every method possible to resolve the issue. In the end if there is no recourse but to leave a negative, then that is what I do. I don't worry about weather or not they leave me one.

I don't believe they are going to take away our chance to respond to a feedback left. If a buyer leaves an undeserved negative then the seller can leave a response right there in the same box with the negative.

The one thing I look for when searching through a sellers feedback is there response to a negative. If they don't even bother to respond to a negative, it makes me wonder how much attention they give to there business... Let face it, the world is not perfect so I expect for a seller to have a few negatives. Most people can figure out pretty quick if it is a bad seller for a bad buyer.
