Buttons won't stop reels on Lupin the Third Pachislo

I reciently came across this machine at a yard sale and I am trying to get it to work properly.
When I drop a token and pull the lever on this machine, the wheels continue to spin after I push the buttons. Once in a while, the first button stops the reel after a few second delay, the same goes with the second button. The third button does not seem to work very well either ( probably the slowest responding of the three). If it makes any difference, the third reel seems to be spinning at a different rate of speed than the other two. It kinda studders every now and then.

I have made sure that the ribbons are attached properly. The knob that you pull down seems to have some excess movement ( it pulls out some as well as up and down).

I have not cleaned the buttons yet , ( I am fairly new to this and do not know how to properly clean them).

I also read that some models have a automatic stop chip in them. Does this model have one and could this be the cause (the reels will stop after a few minutes on their own )?

if you find out what is wrong with it and need parts let me know. i have a parts machine of lupin

I'm guessing dusty or dirty buttons and/or spin knob optics.

contact cleaner may help or you may have to take the spin knob and button assembly apart and chean them.

Check the reel speed sensors found in the center of the reels, for dirt or misalingment
