    Default Source for Florescent Tubes?

My Neo Planett has a belly tube that just burned out. I want to several hardware stores, as well as lighting supply businesses with no luck. This is a thicker, 13" tube. Any suggestions?

How many watts should I be looking for, and is there a model number? There is nothing written on this one.

    Thanks!

13" in length and a large fluorescent bulb...

If it is approximately 7/8" in diameter and 2 pins on each end it is probably an F10T bulb. If so this link will show the bulb.

Some Wal-Marts also carry this bulb in their lighting section.

Thanks! That looks like the one! Sometimes it stinks not living near a Mal-Wart, other times, I'm more than fine with it. I'm passing one by later this week. Otherwise, I'll know where to order it!

I needed to replace the 12 inch bulbs in a couple of machines. I followed Tulsa's advice and went to www.1000bulbs.com

Here in town the cheapest I found them was $36.38 for 4 with tax. I got 14 of them shipped for $29.52 from 1000bulbs.com. They have a minimum of a $20.00 purchase prior to shipping charges. The 14 equal out to $2.11 each shipped. I did some number crunching on their Site and you can purchase up to 31 of them with the minimum charge of $9.50 for shipping . $1.43 per bulb X 31 bulbs + $9.50 shipping = $53.83 divided by 31 bulbs = $1.74 per bulb shipped to your door. Shipping took 4 days.

Not that anyone needs that many bulbs. But the 14 I have in hand will take care of the machines for quite some time.

The cheapest slot Site I found had them for $9.95 + shipping each.

    These are the 12 inch overall bulbs, 11 1/4 inch tube. P/N on their Site is Item: F-08T5CW, Name: F8T5/CW - 8 Watt - T5 Cool White Fluorescent - Preheat - 4100 Kelvin - EIKO. : http://www.1000bulbs.com/products.ph...T5-Fluorescent

There are three listed. I went with the cool white. It gives a nice glow to the belly glass. And not being a brighter / harsher light it does not overpower the other lights on the machines when they do their thing.

I did not see the larger 13 inch F10T in their listings. I could have missed it though.

Just a tip if any of you out there can use it.
