Volume control for the solidering impaired

Hi I was searching around the forums and found the old post about not putting cotton in the speakers.Well this has me worried I may be hurting my machines.I want to install volume controls but can't solider .Is the a volume control that can be wired in with those splice connectors or wire twist?

yes resistors..

i have put resistors on my pachislos and they are spliced in not soldered..

I have used. 50 Ohm / 10 watt resistors..

one for each speaker.

What would be best type ceramic ,wirewound, or sand stone.

I haven't noticed any speaker damage with using cotton balls yet.

some of my first machines still have cotton balls in them

mine are ceramic, but i dont know if that makes a difference..

im sure one of our resident electronics guys will chime in...

especially now that the cotton balls have been thrown into the mix..

standard 10 watt resistors should be fine. The ones sid said. if you want to put in volume controls, buy the ones that were in the auction here. came per wired, you could just use a quick connector or butt connector to connect it.
Have not tried cotton balls, so can't help you there.
