Default New machine & more (silly) questions...

Man, I'm on a pachinko roll!

Just p/u my 2nd machine in as many weeks!

Indiana Jones is awesome! Love the "modes" - definitely more entertaining than my Yamato 2 but HAD to p/u the Yamato for the theme - I collect Japanese toys as 1 of my hobbies...

O.k. so back to the same frickin' q re: getting feverish...

My Indy rolls into fever mode ALOT & I mean frequent.

I noticed that in the u/r of the cell is printed the payout ie 3,4,10&15 & odds 1/300ish.

So after getting juiced on all the fevers I swapped my Yamato 2 cell back in (which has a 1/496.5 odds printed in the same location) & I played.

    & played.

    & played.

Finally I opened the glass & started literally funneling balls into the start hole.

I sat there for over 45 mins & counted close to 1000 entries... That's alot of ball pumping - lol!!!

Now of course alot of the balls going in didn't give me rolls due to the limited 4 roll stacking but c'mon...

    So, is this really normal?

Does the 1/496.5 odds count only as rolls or as ball entries into the start hole?

Does the machine sense the glass door open by the door switch & therefore not go into fever?

We've played the game alot over the last 2 weeks & all agree that the game was very responsive @ first getting fever & all other bonus animations as well.

So after getting maybe1300 balls into the start hole w/out a fever round & based on the 1/496 odds does that mean we shoud expect back-tobcak fever rounds soon?

    Man, I'm confused!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

When you do get a fever, more usually follow. so you will have dry spells and hot spells.

some people have got 5-10 and even 15 fevers in a row

the odds all aveerage out in the long run.

Thanks luckydog, in my last silly question post there was mention of different models ie zx zf - how does 1 tell which I have - by the odds ratio printed?

Also by shutting off the machine & unplugging does this reset the current ratio count? Or does only a hard reset do this?

What about cell swaps - does this affect current counts???

I learn quick so I only need to learn this stuff once - thank goodness!

yes, different types have different payouts, the odds should stay the same even after unplugging the machine for days.

the odds memory should be on a board on each cell, swapping won't change that.

    Thanks yet gain!

So would this mean that my Indy then is a better model w/ a better payout ratio?

Would u then recommend that the next machine I look for I try to get 1 w/ a pyaout ratio like the indy (1/300ish) as opposed to my Yamato 2 (1/496)?

Also, would this make some machines more sought after / rarer? In other words say I were to try for a Star Wars - should I try to find 1 w/ the 1/25 odds as pposed to 1496?

Sometimes it's hard enough to find a specific machine, much less a specific cell/payout ratio, so I suggest just finding a machine you like and keep playing. Even a pachi with a high payout ratio is still going to keep you playing in between reaches and bonuses.

If you get a lot of payouts in a row, you will have to play through a seemingly unending dry spell for the machine to get caught back up on its internal math. They are designed to keep people playing and putting their money in. If all they did was pay out, they wouldn't do the parlor owners much good, would they?

Really the best thing you can do to improve your payout rate is tweak the pins. Open them up around the Start pocket(s). If you're ambitious, you can try bending others to direct balls more towards the start pocket(s) as well. Ask Arby if he has anymore pin adjustment kits for sale.
