Pink Panther machine problems

Hi,

I've just taken delivery of a Pink Panther machine but sadly it is far from well.

Apart from the glass being smashed, the machine has a totally white lcd when powered up. The music plays when a ball enters the pocket and it pays out fine. Some of the lights on the right hand side of the machine are also not lighting up.

I have removed the board at the back and checked all the connections are firmly in, but to no avail.

Also, it seems like when you touch the metal part on the handle it starts firing balls, is this right? It's totally different from my Bruce Lee machine that I have.

Any assistance in getting this running would be appreciated. I'm comfortable breaking down the machine to get to an area, I normally can be found with my head inside a pinball table so got enough experience to know what to do (and what not to do).

ok the balls shouldent fire untill you hold the metal part of the handle that is correct you need to take a working bulb from the one part of the door and put it in a non working part to see if its the bulb blown or the machine

as for the display you need to find the display cable usualy a flat cable with a lot of wires on it like ribbon cable that is usualy the problem on gear shock frames if the display is white it will probebly need re seating

As for the glass you can get picture frame glass cut to size an use that its the same almost or use plexi glass on teh front peace and glass on teh back peace closest the cell where the balls are fired

Thanks for the tips. I have stripped down the machine and taken out the display board, found and reseated both ends of the cable and tested for continuity at both ends all ok. Sadly the problem remains.

I have a local glazier who is going to make another pane of glass and the seller is sending me a piece of plexi for the one that got damaged also.

Any ideas on the screen? Can I get another display board from somewhere to test?

Where are you based, I've got an incomplete Pink Panther, that I'm sure has the parts you'll need to get yours working.

They should be responsible for the poor packing job.

I am already in contact with the *seller* to see what can be done. The packaging was perfectly adequate but the machine perhaps had a bumpy ride, I don't know.

It was 100% ok before it left the seller.
