    Default Automatic Token Feeder????

We've all seen the pachinko ball lifters. We've also seen info on the automatic ball feeding systems for keeping pachinkos topped off in the parlors. Right here at Pachitalk we've even seen a home made ball management system.

My question is, has anyone seen a similar system to handle the flow of tokens for pachislos?

There are overflow bins in pachislos. Frequently these have the bottoms cut out to allow excess tokens to exit the machine. I always assumed that they would just go into a bigger bin where they would be collected later. But I've noticed that many pachislos have a "knock-out" on the back right above the hopper. Could that be to feed tokens in via some kind of mechanical system that not only collects excess tokens, but redistributes them to hoppers?

Actually it's my wife. And usually she's playing the machines and I'm the one that has to keep the machines full of tokens.

That's why I'm interested in this. If she was filling the hoppers, I wouldn't be investigating this.

I would tend to think the tokens go into a holding bucket located inside the game platform. American casinos usually have coin overflow buckets positioned in this fashion. Of course since most casinos have converted to TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) systems the use of coins in machines has diminished greatly.

I have read somewhere that the latest deal with the pachislos is that they too, can now be configured to accept coinless play through the use of a pre-paid card with credits which can be loaded into the machine as needed (up to 50 at a time). Also player wins can be accumulated and credited back to the card which can then be inserted into another machine or cashed out.

There was a big scandal a while back when large numbers of counterfeit cards were being used. In another case, hackers learned how to reprogram the cards for additional credits.

Well, if the parlors switch away from tokens, they ought to become REALLY cheap just before they become really scarce.
