    Default power question

    Hello all,
I am in the process of setting up a room in my basement as a cool gameroom. I thought I had seen something on this before but cant find it now. My question is how many pachislo's can I put on a circuit? I have 14 machines and only 2 circuits in the room. 1 is a common circuit on 3 of the walls and 1 is a dedicated circuit. I am trying to figure out if I can get by or will need more dedicated circuits? Can anyone share their experience with me? Thanks, Mike

What size breakers do you have for each circuit?

I run up to 5 on one power strip and have 15 amp breakers.

I've never had any breakers kick off.

but, I have never powered all my machines up at the same time

your good for all the machines on the dedicated 20 amp circuit .I would suggest you split them on 2 power strips (each surge and circuit breaker equipt a few bucks more but well worth the extra $) and that way you can stagger the startup and not worry about it tripping a breaker . your machines draw at max a little over 1 amp a piece and since start up doesn't include sound and hoppers running i sincerely doubt it will trip you breaker . the total of all your machines comes to about 15.26 amp at full load. giving you 4.74 amps in reserve thats more than enough to power all your machines .

You would need sun glasses from all the flashing lights and ear plugs. Roller blades would help getting from machine to machine. Might cause a brown out in your neighborhood.

If you don't have volume controls, you will make a trip to the drug store for cotton balls, in order to wipe the blood out of your ears

I used to have to do that when my ex-wife would speak.

he only has 14 machines so 20 big bonuses at the same time isn't possible so the answer to your question is absolutely nothing .the math shows the maximum possible draw .thats with lights a flashing ,hopper spiting and sound a blaring on each machine . The only thing thats going to trip that breaker is a short . And the breaker in the power strip would trip before the 20 amp provided you don't ask Mr. Murphy to pay you a visit .the formula for wattage is voltage x amperage =wattage 5 amps at 24 volts = 120 watts now divide the 120 watts by the wall voltage typically 110 volt which equals a shade over 1 amp this is the maximum this machine will draw with a 5 amp transformer. if you have a larger transformer you will draw slightly more but he has over 4 amp to spare more than enough to run a few lava lamps if you wish ...

They look great in my pachipad and they only use about 4W.
