Question My Sanyo CometII needs help

    Hello,
I am hoping that you folks can help me get my machine to be operable. I am not sure what voltage to hook up to the three connections.
I did lube some of the links. I found a screw in one of the chutes. It didn’t come from the machine, it was too large.
Part of my problem is that I am not a good enough player to rack up the safe balls.
If I open the glass and place balls in the various good spots, I can at times cause the bonus balls to drop and ring the bell. Other times I seem to load up the chute by the premium ball reservoir release lever. Then I get a jam. I thought that the electic was just for lights; but Andi suggested that it could have to do with the payoff. Andi also said that you folks were more versed in my older machine.
    Thanks for your time.
    Bob

The electrics are only lights on a machine of this vintage. Do you have plenty of balls in the upper hopper? It's designed to stop paying out of it runs low.

Yes, I keep the resovoir filled. On the electric; there are three pins on the small circuit board; Do you know what voltage gets connected to which terminal? I think the lights would add some pissaz for my teenage grandchildren.

Nice machine...I had probs with pay out on mine after refurbing
The streach arm located lower right pivots as a ball cycles through payout
I had to redrill the holes and install larger pivot nail
dollar general sells nails that are an exact match(little nail kit) a buck
Older machines get wore out and have to be re done this way on most for proper payout without hang ups,and collection,,,Sopias are the worst
I now always redo this on all refurbs,,just drillout and install slightly bigger dia. nail
On elect,,,,,,find ground the other two will be your pos,,,,one for jackpot ,,the other for empty-out
If ya need more just hollar

I'll have to take a look at this on Wednesday. I brought the machine to my son's house, so now I'll be slow on responses while I go back n forth. Anything else I should check while I am there?

    Bob

First let me start my welcoming you to pachitalk. You have found the best place on the internet to get information on all things "Pachi".

Most if not all the vintage machines that I have ever seen only need 9 to 12 volts. A small 9v battery or one of those large lantern batteries are all you need to run the lights on it. I'm not sure which pins are + and - but it is such a low amount of juice you wont damage anything by just trying any to combinations of pins till you find the right one.

    Welcome,
Be sure the balls in the reward hopper press down on the weighted lever, this moves a rod that releases a catch in the payout mech. be sure the ?dipper? swings freely. a button or lever is placed it the back of some that helt free a jam up. clear it all out, fillup the reward hoppers and put a winner in a tulip. watch from the back ut shoud enter the dipper and rotate, releasing the reward.
Good luck, these are really well made machines and they use gravity as power to operate not voltage.

I have been getting so much info here I have decided to try and help if I can.

If you are looking for a cheap solution to lights on the vintage machines this is what I came up with. You can get these two items at radio shack for a few bucks. It will supply 12 volts to the lights which will be a little better than using a 9 volt. The battery pack uses 8 AA batteries and seems to be lasting quite a long time. Keep your loader bin full so that the load light does not stay on. Here is a link to some more photos:

I can't really tell from your photo but it looks like the little blue and red knobbies might be your terminals. You could clip the wires to the two sides of that fuse to get it going as well.
