    Default Beast Sapp Voltage

Hi again everyone. I am going to work on another import. This time it is Beast Sapp pachislo. Can anyone please advise the voltage input at mains level. Is it 100v or 24v. There are no tags on the power cable.

    Thanks in advance.

Jeff, would you clarify this a bit? does the machine run internally on 24v or 100v? It is same config an Sindbad is is not?

same as Sinbad plug straight into the wall. it has a transformer internal of the power supply that is then fed through a bridge rectifier to produce +24 Vdc sawtooth. -^-^-^-^- low being 0Vdc Peak being +24Vdc

good info I am far from my machines So I can't check nor remember. thats an odd waveform. 0-24 thats 60hz I assume. if it varies 0-24 is it still considered DC? this I don't remember from my misspent college years. Not relevant but I am always curious.

bridge rectifier clips off the negative pulses. its actually closer to a square wave rather than a sawtooth. transformer creates 24vac then the rectifier clips off the bottom (-) wave. leaving only positive pulses. a/c alternates above and below 0 were dc is either above or below

Not to be too technical, but a true bridge rectifier actually passes the positive AC pulses and inverts the negative AC pulses to give you two positive pulses for every AC cycle in. This gives you a voltage that is much easier to filter to a pure DC voltage. I used to teach this stuff before I retired and became a Pachislo bum.

Thanks for the info mate. Got to remember here in NZ, our power supply is 230v so I need transformer to drop it to 100 then it seems.

Appreciate the advice. Always good here.

what do you get when you go from neutral (earth) to one side of your plug? thats how my travel adapters work over there.

I tried one of those small travel type adapters and after an hour or so, we noticed a weird smell in the house. Went and checked the machine and the adapter had literally melted to a pile of liquid plastic. I am guessing the machine draws too much power.....

those travel adapters aren't built for the job...

they are only good for an electric razor and such.. nothing that draws too much power.
