Reel Stop Buttons No Longer Work

Hi Gang.

I recently sold my Disc Up pachi to a buddy, but when he got it home the reel stop buttons no longer worked. Things were fine when we played the machine here the night before.) I've never had any issues with the stop buttons in the past.

I searched the threads and tried various suggestions: hard resets, checked start lever connections, looked for dead/missing fuses, tested hopper ejector, even unplugged & then replugged all connections - none of these helped. I have no other relay board to swap in for testing, but I find it hard to believe such a short trip to his home could have caused the relay board to go bad (though... who knows?)

Symptoms: Pachi accepts tokens fine, lever starts the wheels spinning, but nothing happens at all when you hit any of the stop buttons. They normally turned blue when hit, but now they don't even do that.

Any ideas are appreciated.

it could be a problem with your start lever,

it may not be centering or may have a loose connection either inside the joystick or an outside connection.

if you hold it up or down you usually can't use the stop buttons.

what LD said or a stop button is stuck down. same symptoms.

Hi gang. I'm the guy, and thanks, Bob, for starting this thread. Actually, the buttons do turn Blue when I spin the reels. Any sugguestions will be tried when I get home from work today. Thanks again, Al.

Well, problem solved. It was a loose connection, a "ribbon wire" on the right hand wall coming from the reels. It was connected, but not all the way, and BINGO, it works. I now consider myself an expert.....OK, not, but thanks for all the suggestions. Hopefully everything will be smooth sailing from here on.
