    Default Popeye Error

I have a Popeye machine which was running fine. I recently fitted an Auto Stop purchased from Autoslot in the USA. It was working fine for about 1 day and then came up with an FE Error each time the reels finished spinning. I thought maybe the fault might be in the Autostop device so I removed it. The problem remains. As soon as I stop the last reel, FE comes up on the screen along with some Japanese characters.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have the Popeye machine also, I have never seen that on mine before so I am going to guess what possibly happened to yours, you may have installed an autostop on a machine that isnt meant or designed for it, some pachislos are not designed for the auto stop feature. You possibly could have triggered something in the main computer. ? I wish I could be of more help, the japanese characters that are comming up, if translated are probably telling you whats wrong or what the error means.

Take a picture of the error on the screen and maybe one of our members could translate it for you. Check with Rupan777 he might be able to help with the translation. He has helped me before.

Yes but still comes up I'm afraid. Other than that, everything seems normal.

Check the wire where you made the connections for the auto-stop board. Make sure they are making good contact. Also were you using it for auto credit too?

Autostop was Plug and Play only. No credit function on this one. I will double check all is plugged in and make sure I have not knocked anything out either.

Crikey, I hope so. This is one of my favourite machines and I don't want to think it has met its death. Arrrgghhh!

we've had this problem before and if memory serves its either a coin mech or hopper error . i'm assuming you have tokens in the hopper .....double check your hopper wiring and unplug it and empty it out of tokens then put a few back in and turn the wheel with your hand and see if you can eject a coin . if not take the hopper apart and see if you have a token jammed in the token shute .also check the wiring to the coin mech and make sure it didnt become dislodged .

Problem Solved. Big Big thanks to pachi_sloter for the advice. It was bang on!! For future reference, this error came up because the two prongs that are originally in the cash box (not the hopper but the overflow cash box) to detect coins were shorting to tell the machine it was full. I had removed the prongs to fit the transformer and had left them laying in the machine. They were shorting together causing the error.

Thanks to you all for your efforts in trying to sort this with me. It is much appreciated. Mike
