Default Alarm sounding on my Newgin

    Hi,
    New poster...
I just bought a Newgin with japanese writing (unknown title) that appears to be themed on a police TV show. In either case, the game has a very annoying tone emitting from it. After playing around with it for a while, I realized it was an alarm for the ball hopper. The hopper has two zig-zag columns in which one appears to be closed and the other open. the balls just fall through and I cannot find a manual ball gate as I can on another machine I own. In fact, the gate appears to be electronic. Is anyone familiar with this gate? and is there a way to shut it or just turn off the annoying alarm (short of diconnecting the speakers?)

Thanks in advance!!! I can post pictures in a couple of days if necessary.

    Hi meathead.

Yes a Picture would definately help in identifying your machine, it would make the whole process a lot easier.

An electronic gate? This would be the first I've heard of one.

Sounds like your machine is "Western Police Story 2"

try looking at the top right side of the ball chute for a very small white piece of plastic, you should be able to push it in. You have to push it in to release the balls and push it the same way again to reset, so the balls will not continue to pass through. Hope this helps and Welcome to Pachitalk

    Well,
The seller was helpful, as were several other threads regarding payouts. It appears I just need to cycle enough balls through the hopper to satisfy the payouts retained in the memory. He indicated that as long as the balls appeared in one of the front trays, it was doing what was intended.

However, my son has a "Wanted" machine. Balls placed in the hopper on this machine fall through immediately and come out of the back. I have tried to reset this machine by unplugging it and holding down a button on the back on a small circuit board located near the window lock in the back. I have been unsuccesful at changing anything. Any suggestions? (Sorry, I know this probably belongs in a new thread)

you need to reset your ball dump lever on the Wanted, it should be near the left side in the back by the ball channels.

That isn't the metal tab that I push in to retain the ball in the horizontal chute below the hopper, is it? I can't locate any other type of mechanism. Everything I do results in either no balls cycling through, or all of the balls dumped to the rear of the machine.

The Newgin problem is resolved! It was merely catching up with the pay outs. My problem with the "Wanted" will be posted on a new ticket. How do I close this one?

Thanks a lot for all of the advice! I now own 4 of these things and have the bug (we host Japanese exchange students here every year, they love seeing these here).

I'll open a new thread later in regards to the hopper emptying into the back of the machine on "Wanted." Also, are these archived anywhere? I hate to rehash a problem that has been resolved a number of times in the past. My screen only shows 27 past tickets. There must be more somewhere.
