Default How Can I Solve This Problem? Token acceptor

Whenever tokens are being put into the machine, some of them do not go into the hopper but come out into the tray. Any help would be appreciated. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

clean token accepter and clean tokens. these are tokens that the machine recognizes as incorrect or slugs.

I agree with BB. Check for cleanliness in tokens and token acceptor. Different material for tokens may do this also. Is it always the same tokens that are rejected?

Check to make sure the token that is being rejected is in good shape (not bent or gouged up) if it is bent it could loose its balance going down the coin rail (not to mention jam the hopper).

I have had some tokens that would repeadily get rejected and they felt about half as heavy as my others, I just threw the few out that were the lightweights!

Also like these guys mentioned check the coin exceptor (I clean the non electric parts with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol), turn the machine off when your cleaning it.

How do you clean the coin acceptor? Do you take it off?

I had a similar problem with my Spin Luck the issue was a misaligned token validator I lined up the slot on the front with the slot on the validator and it works fine now. I had to loosen a screwor 2 and slide it until the slots lined up better.

heres a stupid question but its valid are you running in cash mode (takes 3 tokens and then it returns everything else to the coin tray ) or credit mode (will take up to 50 coins then drops the rest to the tray)?

Credit mode. I assume the token acceptor is on the front where you insert the tokens?

I'm at work right now but when I get home I will look at the machine. I think the tech guy said to empty all the token out of the hopper and try and see if anything is stuck in the wheel. Since I got it on friday it never released the tokens and gave me that error message. Thanks for getting back to me Birdbrain.

    Thanks,
    Jerellann

Also what kind of silicone do I use and how do I lube it? Sorry for asking these questions but the machine is for my mom for her birthday next month and I want everything to be perfect when she gets it.

just some silicone spray lube. it wont gather dirt like oil will. you should be able to take apart the hopper with very little effort. they are designed for easy maintenance.

before you dismantle it try this look over the hopper harness and make sure its fully plugged in , also look for any broken wires then unplug the hopper leave a few (2 or 3 tokens) in the hopper then turn the hopper by hand and see if you can eject a token if not you may have a token jammed in the coin chute coming out of the hopper . if your able to eject a token then you may have a dirty sensor that needs cleaning . p.s. some hoppers have a solenoid that has to be pulled in to turn the hopper you may need to push it in by hand to be able to turn it .also look at the reel stop board (usually mounted on the left side of the cabinet sometimes the right side it has a hand full of relays on it the cards about the size of a small envelope )it has a fuse on it that controls the reels and also powers the hopper if its blown the hopper wont turn .good luck

you need to post in one thread only please. the sensor looks like two small towers of plastic the metal arm that moves when the coin exits the machine will pass through between the towers breaking the switch electrically

did you try to turn the hopper manually and eject a token ? did one come out ?some have sensors inside the coin track of the hopper others the sensor is mounted on the bottom of the hopper triggered by a lever that moves when a token hits it on its way out . pictures of the hopper in question would help .....both top and bottom pics .
