My PSP is still dead!!!

I'm really angry, after buying a new battery, a new charger and a new external charger, my PSP still is dead

First I bought a new battery, the PSP will go on sometimes, but not charge either battery. it says battery charge is complete, but the battery icon says no charge.

I bought a usb charger cable and still no luck

I just got an external charger I had both batteries hooked up and the orange light turned green to show a full charge

neither one will turn on the PSP

I'm ready to get out my hammer and put it out of its misery!!!!!!!!

I heard Sony wants $90.00 to repair them, but how do I know thay can fix this problem correctly

I took mine apart ( shocking I know) when the joystick broke off and they are not so bad to work on. see if you have a loose wire or connector first before spending your $$ with Sony. A co-worker replaced the LCD screen on his sons these are not meant to be put in your back pocket. parts are available online as well.

If you do any kind of pirating, it sounds like you bricked it . Sadly

It's not bricked, I can get it to turn on once in awhile, but when it does it shows low battery and shuts off.

and on external charger it shows my batteries are fully charged.

do you know anyone else who has one?

maybe you could swap out their battery for a test or something?

Have you checked the terminals of the PSP where the battery plugs in? ive had a couple of experiences with battery powered items that had gunk on the terminals not allowing the machine to power up.

it won't turn on with ac or USB power supply either, the few times i did get it to go on was with the USB cable. then it still wouldn't charge battery

try removing the memory sticks you have for it, i read somewhere that they can short out and cause the unit to shut down (worth a try)

wow thats wierd? how long was it working before this happened? i remember when u got it on ebay. what were u doing when it started to go wrong or what did u do the last time it worked correctly?
bought mine at launch march 05 still works same as new.

this site ahs everything u need to know but p.s. ask a few times cause there are alot of younger kids on the forumsgiving bad advice, the elders are good at fixing like here www.psp411.com

Well I had my usb charger plugged in my psp and, today I got it to turn back on and did a system restore, it still shows a dead battery.

I put the 1gb card with a movie in and am going to play the whole movie.

tomorrow it may not work again

That sucks LD! I was going to say...yank your memory card, format it and then try to do a fulll system restore if you can ever get it to stay on long enough. Sounds like you already did that. What's the word?

been there, done that, it now turns on with outside power source, but not with battery.

both my batteries are fully charged with an external charger.

the PSP says both batteries are not charged and charging completed

I may try bending the 3 prongs in the PSP slightly for a better battery connection

Well I had gotten rid of this PSP about 6 months ago, I was surprised that I got over $100.00 for it on Ebay and the buyer was happy. I did explain the problem in my ad!!

I guess I like to have headaches, I bought another last week for $97.50 shipped on Ebay

and just used buy it now for 8 UMD movies for 40.00 plus shipping.

I got the latest version of PSP 9 movie for converting movies to PSP format.for the memory stick and already have converted a few.

I think I'll stay away for the other PSP download sites as I think thats what messed up my last one.
