    Default Reoccuring E-1 error code

I have an ELF made by JSP (only name I could find) that gets an E-1 every time I turn it on. Do a reset and it is fine. Anyone know what I should do? Hope I am posting this in the right place. Thanks...

I have a few machines that get the E-1 error on start up if the machine was off for a few days. MuMu world and Metal Slug both do it. I don't need to do full resets just have turn the key to the left.

Metal Slug is bad about it. However my turn the key to the left function doesn't work on my MS, I have to reset it.

a lot of machines have to be reset if they remain with out power for some time .some as little as days others weeks . these machines don't have batteries to back up settings on the machine so they use a capacitor to hold the charge instead depending on the size is how long it holds the settings .(remember these units are rarely turned off in the parlors so theres no need to install battery back ups.) so in short theres nothing wrong with your machine so we'll return you to your regularly scheduled pachislo game currently in progress .......

My ELF machine does it even if it sits for four hours. No remedy i guess. Thanks to all who responded!

they have a capacitor that holds a small charge to keep the info.

yours must be completely bad, a lot of them just get weak!!

I've got some machines that hold their memory for weeks and even months and some that last only about 10 days. The capacitors can be weak. As mentioned, in the parlors, they were basically rarely off for more than a few hours at a time.

Actually, I would think shutting them off overnight would be a common practice and save a little electricity (parlors are closed for about 10 or more hours of the day). I've gotten a couple with stickers that state that the machines haven't been reset since the night before. That makes me think that resetting (and probably shutting them off) is common practice.

That makes sense, too, CP. Are some of the parlors open 24/7 or is that just talk? Maybe there are regulations on the amount of hours they can be open?

Most of the signs I see say open at 10am, close at 11 or 11:30pm.

I wait for one of our Japan professionals to chime in about 24hr. I don't think they do.
