Default Yes, I'm a noob, which model?

Hello all! Obviously, I'm new as of today to the boards here, and come appealing for some sage advice with regards to which machine to purchase first.

My wife really enjoys playing slot machines in the casinos here in the US. In particular, she enjoys the 'video' slot machines with animated/interactive bonuses. While I understand that pachislo is a different animal entirely, I think she would enjoy having a machine at home to play. She really enjoys slots with a Vegas theme as well as 'Eqyptian' or Arabic themes. Anything with an extra 'bonus wheel' (ala SL, or the dice in DD) is sure to keep her interest. Currently, I am looking at either an SBJ or Rio machine, as the prices on SL are phenomenal at present.

Can anyone recommend a machine that has a nice, entertaining bonus round, or comment on my preliminary choices (made by reading the forums here for the past 3 hours, lol). Also, are there any reputable vendors to buy from directly, or some to stay away from (if the members are allowed to comment on the issue)?

Thanks for hosting a fantastic site. As for myself, I am a big fan of Speed Racer , at least the old cartoon, so I may have to purchase one for myself, any comments on that machine, or the Addams Family machine, as that is another favorite old show of ours.

I know I'm asking a lot, just hoping to narrow down a choice. Thanks!

How about Sinbad Adventure, by Eleco 2004, its got a huge over laid video screen (the reels are behind the video screen) and its got a sort of egypty type of theme.

Head over to the museum (you will need to register again, just use the same details you did on here)

I was going to recommend that one also. I do not have it, but it seems to be a member favorite here. As for vendors, we have a few links on the forums page. I would recommend Gaku, from GAK Trading...as I have purchased from him before. He has decent prices and stands behind his products. Be aware that the volume on Pachislos is usually extremely loud for home use. I do believe that Gaku will install volume controls for an additional price before he ships. It is well worth it...something I wish I had done.

Welcome to the forum! It looks as though you have already started to think about your second and third machine also...

Thanks for all the kind words! I was just looking a Gak's, it doesn't appear that they currently have any of the aformentioned machines. There is a Rio going off in 2 hours on Ebay, currently at 150 plus 79.95 shipping from pachinko palace. Anyone have any comments from them? I've been playing the Las Vegas 'virtual machine' found here on the site and really enjoyed it. Is it hard to find? Thanks again!

Gaku's site isn't always current. Sometimes a telephone call can lead you to the machine that you want at a price that can't be beat. You can use the search feature at the top of the page to find out members' thoughts about any particular vendors.

Welcome fellow noob. You'll learn a lot here as I hvae and still am. People here are nice and friendly and willing to offer assistance. I have an SBJ and love it - great Vegas them as you mentioned.

I got a Speed Racer from Gaku at a nice price - I had to ask for it as it was not on his site. Like others have said, give him a call and let him know you wants. I guarantee you won't beat the price or service.

Another note. I happen to live in a state (Indiana) where, according to Gaku's site, owning such a machine is prohibited. However, I've seen pachislo machines for sale in local flea market booths for years. Will they ship to my state, or do I need to have machines shipped to, say, Kentucky (an easy 10 minute drive for me to Louisville)?

Also, his 'special' of 3 machines for $399 shipped sounds awfully good even though the machines I originally posted about aren't in there. King Camel, Fire Drift might make a good combo. Thinking maybe it wouldn't be bad to just dive in!

Again, all of you are super helpful, wish all 'hobby/obsession' sites were this friendly !!

Upon further review, I see several sites mentioning that any SLOT machine ownership is prohibited in Indiana, but Pachislo is OK. Anyone here verify that firsthand, or do I need to dig into state statues? (Or have machines sent to family in Kentucky, where, apparently, slot machines of any type, form or fashion are legal.)

Sinbad Adventure, Super Black Jack and Rio are all nice choices in the lower price range but still nice machines are the Neo Magic Pulsar, Neo Planets and Neo Pharoh Zetz (all the Neo's I mentioned are monochrome graphics over the reels they look great and are fun too).

I tend to like the slots with some sort of graphics etc, all mine have it except Fever Queen but it has 6 reels so it's still cool!)

Like others mentioned Gaku seems like an excellent choice (I haven't ordered from him yet but all I read is good things on them errr, actually I just did order some tokens)

http://www.pachislo.com my brother has gotten 2 machines from them (one more on the way for a total of 3) (Great to deal with and nice double boxed packaging) They have some nice sales until Dec. 31st too.

http://www.pachisloshop.com I have ordered my PoPeye and Neo Magic Pulsar from them (Great to deal with, excellent packing and the machines were in spectacular shape)

Sorry I do not know the law regarding if pachi slots are legal in your state.

    Hope this helps you out,

Yea as far as the law goes I live in Indiana and have not had any problems with getting machines from stealth or pachinko palace but I know there are some venders that will not ship here. From what I looked at as far as the Law it states no slot machines are legal in INDIANA. These are pachislo machines and are considered games of skill and are token in token out. These are not slot machines so they are legal in Indiana. At least thats the way I took it. And the other day I was at the mall and there was a store selling 2 of them. Wouldn't think they could sell an illegal product.

Check the website for the Indiana Attorney Generals office. They will often have a state law search engine and you can look for it there.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

I would have to say......King Camel (Nudge Reels) The reels spin backwards at times and do other wacky things! Has a 2nd set of reels on top! Also has a dot-matrix screen on the R side. Egyptian/Arabic theme! I love mine! Make sure to get volume controls added as this machine has a poor built in 3 position volume switch.....Loud, Louder, Loudest!
    Good video here: Stealth!
I would also have to say.......NEO Pharaoh Zetz El-Vision monochrome LCD screen overlayed on top of reels! Cool graphics! Egyptian themed!
Decent volume controls built in but still a tad loud for my taste even with both controls set at 1, i will be adding volume controls soon!
    Good pictures and video here:Stealth!
Sinbads Adventure is another excellent choice! Kinda pricey yet!
This machine is a very nice large LCD machine by Eleco. It has a 15” LCD that goes over the reels. This machine is based on the adventures of Sindbad and his monkey companion. I WANT 1 BAD!
    Good video here: Stealth!
Rio de Carnival by Net "Las Vegas" casino themed slot machine!
6" full color LCD screen that acts as a Blackjack jackpot game!
Also on my most wanted list!
    Video here: Pachinko Palace(E-bay seller)!
I bought my 2 pachislos from Stealth! Great deal! Lifetime Warranty on E-bay machines and select machines on website!
I have heard great things about Gaku! Just bought 2500 tokens for $100 shipped from him! Awesome deal and extra clean tokens!
Pachinko Palace on E-bay. Tends to embelish in thier advertising. Search on here for more opinions on them! Lifetime Warranty!
    Check out the Vendor section!
    Good Luck choosing just 1!

Welcome to PachiTalk Bullwinkle! I too would recommend King Camel. While not so Egyptian as others, the play is awesome.
Another that is a fine machine is ArraKing. It has an Arabian Nights theme. I don't have a video of it yet, but I think Eddie has posted one. You may want to do a search for his posts.
Any of the Super Blackjack series are great Las Vegas themed machines, as is the Las Vegas by Olympia.
To give you an idea of a few of the machines I have in my collection, check out the videos in my journal linked below.
Check my member page here or...

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum
