For those of you dating your machines (no, not like that-for that I think you need a certain Mizuho) remember that frames lingered on...and on...as you can see in the Sankyo 1996 release page with no less than the first three frame types here still used in current releases:

That second one down is Fever Hanafuda, shown in the Nasuka case, but the one I have is in an FF case. I think cels from these cases are interchangeable (unusual).

My Vicky sure is a looker and still looks great even though it is in a white case instead of the matching lime green. I am still trying to come to grips with it's playability. On the surface the strategy appears to be very simple and it's fun to play. However I keep "looking under the hood" trying to find something more. I was expecting Taiyo's Apollo 1 on steroids but although there are simularities, it's something else.

Vicky (July 3, 2006) is a newer machine than Julie (Feb 3, 2006).

Well, not too soon. It might be a little bit till Sankyo takes it up.

Of course. It's hard to believe the Lumina frame has been around (in Japan) almost 2 1/2 years. It's rather a classic design (IMO).

We'll be getting these in the US for years to come--nothing wrong with that!
