    Default Hesitating Reels

    Hi to all,
I am new to this board as I was given a Route-66 Aruze corp machine and it needs some repair. Two of the wheels seem to hesitate when they begin to spin. i have removed the assembly lubed and cleaned but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions for repair and if new reel assembly is needed where would I get it?
I have also just ordered a Gamera High Vision for my kids for christmas and cant wait to get it.
    These new machines are great!!!

also check the wiring on the reels make sure the connectors make contact some have molex connectors that break pins in the housing this makes it hard for the motor to turn so it studders .also move the reels from one location to another and see if they work in the good location it will tell you if the reel is bad or the socket just remember the original order of the reels to begin with .this thread might help explain it better to you and possibly help skip down 8 or 9 posts .

Sometimes these machines hesitate as the reels calibrate themselves.

i take its more than calibration if it bothers him enough to post about it, but then again we have had a few overly obsessed owners recently .

If it's a Route-66 it's a custom job. Did they redo the reels to show custom graphics?

the original reel tapes may be underneath, weighing too much.

    Yes,
the reels are custom as i peeled off the film and there are other images under. the hesitation in some spins lasts 4-5 seconds where the reel clicks and vibrates.

remove the new reel tapes(marking where they start at!!) pull the old tapes and throw them away, reinstall the new tapes. remember: each reel has a different order of images so each reel must stay with the correct tape in the correct position. best to do one at a time.

Well then that is your problem. These motors are not designed for the weight of double stacked strips. Peel off the second set and it should be fine.
