Default Token or Pachinko ball short .

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question so Tulsa forgive me if its wrong.

I have loaded all of my hoppers to the max so that as I insert tokens sometimes they fall out to where the overflow trays should be.
In some machines thats where the vendor placed the transformer.
When I first installed my pachinko and palot machines a few balls missed the drain tube and fell into the back of the frame rolling of course towards the transformers.
Has anyone ever had a transformer short out due to tokens falling into them or having Pachinko balls rolling into them?
I will be moving my transformers to a safer location.

i dont blame you eddie i have never herd of it shorting anything and a good transformer should be suficiently insulated so as not to be shortable (not recomended but you should even be able to handel a good transformer while live) but i liken it to a game of russian rulet and move mine anyway

just my 2 tokens worth im sure i will be corrected
My rice krispies told me to do it

I have also never had a tranformer short out. as long as there is no broken or cut wires. take a look at the wiring at & by the transformer. if anything is exposed then wrap it in black tape & you should be fine...

Ditto as long as no hot wires are exposed it is possible you could bury the transformer in tokens with no shorting, I don't recommend taking any chances. I have had tokens fall onto the transformers on occasion, I put packaging tape over the over flow chute on the hoppers so they don't send tokens that direction and hold a bit more as well, I read others have done this also.

    Hey !!

Move the transformer to the back wall and than put in a bucket or baskt to catch the tokens.

    worked for me

Sure Arby go with the correct way, I only have some of the hopper buckets, others were tossed to make room for the transformers and pull arm. Some have a hole cut through so the tokens pile up on the top of the stand. One bucket even has hole cut in the bottom. I taped it up with aluminium tape and was using it as a token bucket.
