    Default Searching the web

Your looking for something, what ever it my be from a belt to a car. How is the best way to say what it is you are looking for? If you capitalize you get certain results. If you don't capitalize you get different results. Some of the same, some different, and some missing from before. Same thing with multiple words describing the same thing. How do you put them together to get more results, other than typing in one way to describe it , then another search saying it another way. The advanced search still needs what you are looking for put in the right way. Also, other than putting your preferences in advanced search every single time as to country and language, is there a way to save it? It takes so long to find simple things.

you can add the link to your favorites and delete it later.

the more words in your search the closer the match, like {pachinko star wars]
幸運わんわん Luckydog or Yukiwanwan in Japanese

    I use a meta search engine dogpile.com
helpful hint: if you want results for tiger lily for example put in single quotes 'tiger lilly' or you will get results for both tiger and lily .

no I'm not even going to ask why you want to search for Tiger Lily..................

Although I did have some in my Garden last year and very beautiful they looked too!!

Unless, you been looking for a Rupert Bear character of the same name?

    or Exotic Dating maybe?

No, really, I don't need to know.........

A few years ago I was volunteering in my son's 4th grade computer lab. The kids were doing research to make replicas of items used during the colonial times here. The lab used "Yahooligans' to do all searching as it was supposed to be "kid friendly". My son's groups's research was how to construct a 'rope bed'. One of the items that came up was "College coeds bound with rope for your pleasure", luckily the group of 10 year old boys gave it away by whispering and laughing at the description before they clicked on it. I was very surprised that this came up in an elementary school lab.

children doing research (searches) on the internet must be monitored closely. The new content adviser with Windows Vista(beta) is really good at restricting adult content. Amazing actually, for a Microsoft product.

He is almost 16 now and has, shall we say "refined his search skills". Someone posted a "3-D Green Dragon" link on the forum a while back. When I clicked on the link, it somehow activated the "REAL Player" on my computer...and what popped up in my face had NOTHING to do with a Green Dragon. I got a little angry that someone on here would put up such a link. At the time, I mentioned it to Luckydog and he assured me that it was indeed a link to a 3-D Green Dragon...he checked several times, just to make sure So later, when I had some alone time with my son, I mentioned the story and asked him how something like that could have happened. I am sure he thought about making something up that I might just fall for...but it was too late, his face turned about every shade of pink and purple you could imagine. Poor kid, he doesn't do many unnaceptable things, but when he does, he gets caught. Moms have a way of finding out everything...even when they are not trying to....all I wanted to do was make a 3-D Green Dragon

unfortunately different search engines vary slightly in the advanced search context.for example, " (double) are used by some others use ' (single)to define a phrase. the simplest thing to do would be just use the advanced button and be more specific, adding a minus sighn in front of a word mosly will reject content keyword lists containing that word. I used to have to add -porn etc to narrow down some searches. now a built in advisor does that already. http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/search/advancelike +d/web.htm
if you know the shortcuts it is a bit faster to just search from any search text box,
    +whithouse -porn "Monica Lewinski" = 86 returns
    +whithouse -porn "Monica Lewinski" +scandal = 80 returns

My how things change cause when I went to school these " were quotation marks and this ' was an apostrophe. To my knowledge all keyboards are still this way and using Internet Explorer searching from the taskbar still recognizes these " as quotation marks.
