Default Modifying a New Red Pulsar Help!!!!!

I have a New Red Pulsar machine and I bought a Kit on line to convert it to a New England Patriots Super Bowl themed machine.
The kit included a new Top Glass and Belly Glass and 3 Strips to cover the reel symbols with new Patriots Symbols. The problem now is that after I attached the new reel strips 1 or more of the reels hesitate when I hit the spin knob. Which reel or reels that do it varies
from spin to spin. Usually the reel or reels that hesitate will sit there for a few seconds and you can hear the stepper motors HUM while the controller tries to get them moving but they eventually start. The reels turn free and are NOT Hitting anything. If I peel the new symbols off all is well. Seems like the extra weight of the paper is the problem. Any Ideas?????????

Probably just as you said the extra weight. Cant you remove the original reel strips and simply replace them with your custom strips?

You are supposed to remove the old reel strips before you put the new ones on. Before you remove them be sure and mark the old ones position!

Well thats what I though but then why did the guy that sold them to me enclose double sided sticky pads to stick them on with. Beside he never said I had to remove the old ones. I would have prefered to keep the old symbols intact in case I ever needed to convert it back to a New Red Pulsar. Does anyone have or know where I could get a set of 3 plastic reels that I could put the new strips on rather than ruining the old strips getting them off.
    Thanks much

I just bought this machine last week from Stealth and received it on Tuesday. Can I get a set of 3 reels complete with motors as spares or just the plastic reels only. Whats the difference in cost???
    Thanks much

PS The strips with the symbols are Glued onto the reels and there is no way to remove them without tearing them off.

I'm not exactly sure if the link below is the same reels you have, but if they are, you could easily put the new strips on these and have the ability to change the machine back easily.

As someone who has done a custom reel change. These reel strips are not on the reels so tight that you cannot peel them off without ripping them.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

I would think that this would apply to a whole reel cage for 9.95. but do you actually think that this machine might be worth something one day? its worth more as a conversion than as a boring red pulsar

You should be able to get the reel strips off without damage but if not I'm sure the new machine will be worth more to anyone from NE than the new red pulsar ever would.

I put one of his kits on and the stickies are to stick the new reel strips on with. Common sense should tell you this, and the old ones are real easy to take off with a knife or a razor blade. Why anyone would ever want to change it back is beyond me but I can easily change mine back if I ever wanted to. If you will look on this site there are instructions for changing the reel strips or if you ask him he will tell you how to do it. My Daddy always said if you don't know how to do something then ask instead of tearing something up. That was pretty good advice!

Here is a quote from one of Dapper Dan's post "For some tips on how to mark the reel strips and take them off you can visit my page at www.barncow.com/custominfo - This shows how to mark the reels so you can put on your reels in the right spot. Different machines layout their symbols in different a different order so you are going to have to figure out which ones go where."

Thanks a lot jc1444. That link was a great help. I had tried to peel them off at the seam but I was afraid they would tear. I guess Il just have to try again and give it a little more force. Just wondering if a little heat on the seam from a blow dryer would soften the glue a bit and make it easier.
    Thanks again

Thanks for everyone's help. I got the old ones off and the new strips on. Now I was wondering if anyone knew what the label on the front of the New Red Pulsar machine that has the display of different symbols is supposed to mean??? This is the label that is stuck on the chrome above the 3 buttons. Any ideas????
    Thanks

Those are 'winning tips,' combinations of symbols that might produce a win, small or large.

Which I never understood why, except they may be damaged or incomplete.
