    Question Power Jam questions

    Greetings,

I recently purchased a Power Jam Pachislo and have encountered several issues that my seller is unable to answer.

First, a question about the "cash out" button located on the left of the front of the machine. When pressed, the machines proceeds to empty the entire contents of the hopper rather than only the number of credits. How can I change this to the expected behavior of only paying out the number of banked credits?

Lastly, after playing the machine for many hours, I hit the bonus/jackpot combination. My machine only had 60-70 coins in the hopper (I know I need 500-600 at least, but was eager to start using it), so it very quickly hit the HE (Hopper Empty) condition. So, I opened the machine, refilled the hopper with my 60-70 coins, reset, and continued to play. I repeated this process for more times that I would expect. Assuming that the jackpot is 500+ coins, I should have had to repeat this process only about 8-9 times, correct? Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Great. I'd like to hear from anyone knowledgeable about the workings of this particular machine.

since you have so few tokens the # of credit could be more than the
entire contents of your hopper. otherwise a dirty /loose wire on a sensor could be the cause of more than the # of credit paid out.

usually the reason for more than the right number of payout is the sensor mech.on the hopper not counting the "tokens" when ejected thus trying to empty the hopper and usually resulting in error . some machines have arms that move blocking the sensor each time the coin passes then springing back .here in lies the problem lack of lubrication prevents the arm from springing back fast enough or at all .lube it and it should go away the other reason is the sensor is dirty or faulty cleaning it will probably fix the situation as most dont really fail .....cross your fingers on that one .....

    Question Re: Power Jam questions

I wonder if you might have a diagram of the sensor and perhaps the moving arm that might need lubrication within the hopper. If this is the trouble, that would explain why the jackpot also seemed to never be completely paid out despite my efforts to refill the hopper after evey HE condition.

I'll take a closer look too and see if I can find the area where the sensor and moving arm are located.

    Thanks,

    Steve

you will have to take the hopper apart to find them. just make sure you remember how to put it back together.

Take pictures of the hopper, in each stage of disassembly. That way you'll know for sure how to put it back together. Also, do NOT over lubricate!

you'll find the sensor in the coin path, usually you can access it by turning the hopper upside down. always clean the heck out of hopper unless just bought from one of the better dealers.while your at it clean the coin track and coin accepter at the same time. will provide years of service with no problems if you start out right. ps: use silicone not oil for lube.

unplug the hopper and pull it out then turn the hopper wheel by hand and eject a "token" then watch as the next one comes out you should be able to see how it moves an arm to block a sensor on the bottom of the hopper if not it may be nessary to disassemble the hopper to gain access to the coin path either way youll find the sensor and the problem.
