This works!
I stumbled on this in a woodworking forum:
actual working link http://tinyurl.com/
test: link to tiny url .com

When you have a link with 7,936 characters in it all you have to do is cut and paste that url into this and it converts it into, yes, a tiny url.
Real helpful on these MB's to keep your screen from having to slide 30ft to read posts once a 7,936 character link has been posted.

For those of you who like to do your own commands, the following recipe will get you a clickable link. (by Leora Brown < Thank you!)

[ url=http://website address here ] Type cute click me saying here [/url]

You will have to leave out the spaces in the first bracket, they are only in the example so you can see the example, otherwise it would make a clickable link. You can also still use colors, font size, bold on the text in the middle of the two bracket sets.

or you can just write a link title highlight it and then press the little blue circle with the paperclip and post the link in there...

You can do this automagically using the insert link button here in the reply box , insert your URL and then replace the blue wording with what you want your link to say.
