Default Top Gun is here! A few questions...

It was insane loud so I installed 10w 50ohm resistors....it wasn't easy either but it's perfect now. Great video....I haven't a clue what the numbers on the video mean (this is my first pachinko) also there is a #4 displayed on the back in a board in the lower right. There is a japanese explanation of numbers 1-6...any ideas? I need a playing guide too!!

Make sure that the top hopper (behind the machine) is completely full of balls. It has a sensor in that top tray & will give an error (it may be 4) if it is not full.

I'm not sure who makes the Top Gun machine but here are the error codes for a SANKYO Error Display.

    - No abnormality
1 Main board signal not yet connected
    2 Pay-out unit abnormality
    3 Pay-out count switch abnormality
4 Pay-out motor space cut off or balls jammed
    5 Main board signal abnormality
    6 Full tank
7 Balls cut off (out of balls)
8 Prepaid card unit not yet connected
    9 Prepaid card unit abnormality

As for the numbers on the LCD....think of them like slot machine reels. You're trying to get a match.

I had the same error code on my Magical Lamp and it turned out to be foriegn matter clogging the payout. I found small pieces of plastic in the payout chute that may have been mixed in with the balls when loaded into the machine. Empty some balls through the payout channel with the lever down and your error code should return to 0.

First of all... is the upper hopper full of balls?

Second... if so, open the front door and drop a ball into the start pocket.
Do you see balls paying out?
If not, examine the track (it's translucent) from the hopper down to and through the motor. There are two chutes, I believe? Are there balls making it through each track to the payout motor?

Watch the track while you drop balls into pockets.

If that is working OK... do a reset.
Hold down the small reset button (near the power switch) while turning it on. Continue to hold for 5 seconds.
What's the code then? Or will it work now?

The error code numbers on Top Gun are not the same as the ones posted for Sankyo machines, luckily Arby has worked them all out and posted them in the Pachinko Links forum.

    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12789

A '4' means that you need to fill up the top hopper on the back of the machine.

Thanks everyone! The top hopper is full now. My first impression of Pachinko is that it's not as fun as Pachislo but I'm sure in time that may change...it better... Indy is on his way! I probably need to watch a veteran Pachinker play to get the whole idea. It appeared to me there was only one sweet spot to hit and that all of the suggested numbers were not relevant...I'll look harder tonight.

How in depth are your manuals? Are they similar to Gaku's or more detailed?

I played it for 30 minutes or so this evening. I appears hitting the center slot makes the video progress but the numbers shown don't relate to anything. If anyone knows where I can get a detailed playing guide I'd sure buy one.

Firstly, 30 mins play is not enough

You need a couple of hours at least to fully appreciate the Game Play!

A detailed Guide is not really necessary in order to enjoy the experience that is Pachinko.........

You need to let the Machine draw you in - it will teach you by tantalising and giving away it's precious secrets (sometimes slowly), eventually - if you are truly truly worthy you will be rewarded with a FEVER or Two or more!

By now it should be exciting and amazing all your senses - so much so that you will look at the clock and wonder where on earth the last 2 or 3 hours have gone

Good Luck with your Journey to the Dark Side!

Sorry chinkomates....the "dark side" sounds scary. I'll stick with action like Indy and Top Gun. I had a code 6 this morning when I turned it on...gotta figure that out tonight...that should make it more fun LOL.
    ( — ) Everything OK
    ( 1 ) Signal abnormality
    ( 2 ) CR By-pass unit not fully connected
    ( 3 ) Pay-out system abnormality

I know this is an old thread but looking thru Top Gun posts I need to say this is spot on for this and most any other modern pachinko machine!
