Cool $400 for a vintage (NOT)

Looks like 123rleach is back trying to sell his vintage pachinko again.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290045250184&fromMakeTrack=true

At least he gave some kind of discription and included a photo this time. Looking at the photo I don't beleive it is realy from the 50's. From the photo it appears to be a late 60's early 70's machine.

    Eric C.

PS sent him my standard photo and year of manufacture request. I'll let you know what I find out.

Ridiculious nonsence, must be someone who thinks they have a gold mine.
Or they are too lazy or dumb to look what price other machines are being sold at. They have no clue how to sell a machine for premium money.

Most I ever sold a vintage for was $275.00 to a buyer in France, he said it was just like one he had when he was a kid so he had to have it at any price.

Most of these nuts find something dusty in granma's attic and they think they have a goldmine.
We see this all the time at the Comicbook Shop.
Someone will come in with about a dozen comics in their hands and dollar signs in their eyes. The boss looks at the comics and hands em back to them and says "I'm sorry but these are not really worth much at all."
The customer gets all red in the face and says "but I looked this one up and the price guide says it's worth Ten Bucks!"
Then you have to explain to them that price is for a near mint copy with no marks on it, not the one in his hand missing half the front cover.
Then alot of times, if the customer is a total ass, he tells him that he will sell him a couple of that comic for five bucks, half of the price guide.
The customer gets the dollar signs in his eyes again and asks where they are.
The boss points across the room at the big white comic boxes and says "over there in the 50 cent boxes, bring them to me so I can ring them up at only five bucks each."
Goes to show that a little common sense and a little research goes a long way.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Well it took the seller almost a week to finally get back to me. What a surprise to find out his digital camera is not working right now. So he cant send me additional photos. He did send me the numbers from the licensing tags that are still on the front. They are 48 and 12.

    Here is my response:

In your description you state that it was purchased during the Korean War. Did you purchase it or is this what was this told to you buy whom ever you purchased it from?

The numbers on those tags that I requested represent a month and year. Twelve is the month, obviously December. Forty-eight represent the Japanese forty-eighth year of Syouwa. English translation is 1973. The tags are licensing tags that show there expiration date. In Japan they only license a machine for three years. Based on the information you gave me, the machine was manufactured in 1970.

God I love it when a seller doesn’t have a clue and they think I don’t either. I’ll let you know if he replies.

    Ah yes...
The 1970 "Karean war". I remember THAT one.

When ol' Darryl Karean and his other brother Darryl Karean had that feud about who was the rightful owner of the '53 Chevy pickup that was up on blocks in their front lawn.

I STILL think Darryl was right.

Talking Re: $400 for a vintage (NOT)

    Hi Slothappy-
Here is a link to the thread for vintage age http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...ht=machine+age

Well the seller quickly replied back:

I'm sorry, I thought I was told it was bought during the war but, my friend said it was bought in korea. My friends dad is the one who bought it, but was left to him after his dad past away.
He gave me as much info on it as he could remember and asked me to sell it for him.

Are you still interested in it?

So now all I have to do is try to stop laughing long enough to tell him he's nuts if he thinks I'd pay over 100 bucks to ship a vintage, never mind what he is even asking for the machine.
