The neon is true glass...rather small sign though. I disassembled mine and made it where it will wall mount. I ordered 6' of chasing red/white/blue rope light to make a border around it. It's my version of "Bling on a Budget"

I use the rope light, its cheap and can be cutomized. I have a 1' string lighting the face of a pachinko. I need to post that...another thread.
note: these lights are wired in series 10 or so at a run, only break on the ends of runs or you could over load the little lights.
I sent this link to my wife and she wants to put it on our Xmas list for family to get. Excellent idea, along with Devospeeds token cups going on EBay soon. Ugh I am thinking about Xmas already.

BearnGo0se is on the tundra (hats off to you!! wow thats northern exposure!) we are short of the perma frost we get a 2 week thaw most years. I have a wife that is crafty and she is geared up making gifts almost year round. I used to make gifts in my old shop. I would make a small production run of recipe boxes or book ends or magazine racks. whatever, back when I had more time than I do now, no money either.
