so there we were huffing fumes from the motorcycle's gas tank and my brother keels over. i run for the house hopeing mom is home from work. the dog comes bounding from the back of the garage a tennis ball in mouth,tail wagging and just happy not to be alone so we stop and i throw the ball for him, he chases it down but wants to play keep away. soon we are wrestling for the ball and my dad comes up the drive asking me to give him a hand with the mower in the front yard,so off we go! bowser is overjoyed to be out of the fencing and im happy to be with my dad, like one of the guys he invites over on thursday to play poker in basement. they set up a small felt covered table and stock the fridge with beer,soon the smoke curls out the dryer vent,mom runs the dryer with no clothes just to change the air down there, beer cans on all the flat sufaces around the table remind me of spectators stopping by to watch a football game. i love watching football, the chill air, the crowds, the happy families spending time together, like when we go up to grandmas for christmas. the goose she always cooks is so sweet....
