    Default Perfect Tray liner material

I was using this stuff when redoing the kitchen shelves in the country house
and thought this would be great for trayliners. Its a form of rubber and its very thin, flexible and its easy to cut or mold to your desires.

I figured what the hell let me try it.
What I did was rough cut pieces to size (Sides and bottom of tray)with sissors used the adhesive spray on the pieces where they would contact the tray. Dont spray the tray as you wont get even coverage and you will use too much adhesive. You really dont need much at all

I Inserted the pieces bottom first then pressed them from the center out for smoothness which is unbelievably easy as the material is full of small holes which eliminates any bubbles. It also contours dimples in trays like a glove!!!
Then I trimmed with a straight edge razor.
Simply do the same for the sides.

The fit is unreal as the material is very thin and flexible. Looks like the tray was made with insulation and the balls drop with a nice quiet thud. Cant beat it with a stick... Too bad it couldnt be used inside the machines tracks LOL

Some of the trays I've picked up in the last year already have liner material cemented on them.
I was not sure what they were for intill I got my first patchi this month.
I believe I got them from Mike at VGC.

I have used die rubber 1/8' , 1/4" ,3/8" I knew a guy who worked in a plant that made gaskets out of the stuff, if it had a rip or a corner was squished flat it was thrown in a pile, to go into a dumpster. They were happy to let me load up all I wanted. I used for tons of thing when in college, floor mats, insulation in old shed, drawer liners , I wish I knew of a place close to me now As is would be perfec., It is closed cell black foam, like mouse pad material , some even had a peel off adhesive sticker material already on it. cut peel and stick. If anyone knows of a gasket making place go see if you can rummage through their scraps, pre dumpster preferably. get yourself some free quietdown material.
