    Question Star Wars Sound

Evening all - just a quickie.....

Does anyone find the sound on the Star Wars pachinko a little "distorted" sounding, especially when the volume is turned down.

Ive tried two, and they both seem the same - so I guess its just the way it is. Just wondered whether anyone can confirm whether theres is like it?

    Many thanks,

    Mark ;O)

I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with the sound quality as well. But, after I got the machine I read somewhere on here that the distortion could be down to the volume controls (you might find the thread if you do a search). I'd rather put up with a bit of distortion on the machine compared with the amount of noise that would be generated by my wife if I played it too loud!

My sound is controlled by the arbycoffee method that he installed amongst other special modifications before he sent my Star Wars (PRINCESS) to me.

I have no distortion whatsoever on the music and sound.

In general, I have noticed that some volume control mods do add distortion. This may be due to the quality of pots used. L-pads although much more expensive should not add any significant distortion.

My Arby Star Wars sounds crystal clear also.

I used the same volume controls that Arby uses. Nothing to the installation and the sound is nice and clean at any volume level. Good stuff.

I don't have any volume controls fitted on any my pachinko's either. Love them nice & loud, although it does mean that I cannot play them after 8pm - as the little one is in bed.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the comments! It sounds like it might be the volume control as at full volume its not too bad, but the lower the volume, the more distortion.

As Arby comes so highly recommended I have emailed for shipping prices to the uk, as it seems the easy volume install kit will be just the thing.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Does anyone live near Stuey that can fit his machines for volume controls for him?

I'm sure he'd trade some skate boading lessons for it.

Oh and don't forget to take a note pad with you. He doesn't hear so well you know...

I used to play my Star Wars without Volume Controls before it was wall mounted in the Living Room!

I think the 'Rock n' Roll' of Pachinko Balls 'Aint Noise Pollution' but I thought my neighbour might not agree........
