Here's my simple page about a Pachinko battle counter:

    http://gibisans.com/Pachinko_Battle_Counter.html

Each of the 2 pin connectors is a signal, the two pins connected when something occurs (a ball goes thru a pocket).

There's actually 5, the 5th one is the Chance Time count.

Not all the Pachislo machines support this one. The PachiCount counter only looks at the 4.

    Token In
    Token Out
    Regular Bonus
    Big Bonus

    It keeps the following stats:

    Overall
    - Tokens In
    - Tokens Out
    Regular Bonuses Stats
    - Count
    - Net (Total tokens won or lost in all regular bonus rounds.
    - Previous (Tokens played since the last regular bonus round)
    - This Bonus (Tokens won in the current regular bonus round)
    Bib Bonus Stats
    - Same as regular bonus (Count, Net, Prev, This)

The software uses the Net and Count to get an average. It also allows you to make an adjustment to the start values for the bonus rounds, because the machines can be a little inconsistent with where the start out.

It seems like the Pachinko's could use a similar set of stats. Perhaps an adapter wire could be made to hook up the PachiCount to the Pachinko relays and thus map Balls In/Out to Tokens In/Out, and the bonus relays to the bonus relays.

There isn't actually a way yet to count balls played/won (no sensor for played), although I've heard something is in the works out there!

    Now this is kinda wierd.
I won on Ebay a couple of cells, just got them a couple days ago, they were pretty much stripped. Not a problem because I am gonna put clocks in the spot where the video screens were.
But onto the wierd part, like I said these cells were stripped, only thing on them are the nails, lights/fixtures, a couple ball sensors, and the wires to the lights and sensors. Now I noticed something on both of these cells (it was real obvious on one of them, which is what got my attention). At the end of the ball ramp, where the ball passes through the little metal gate like part, there was a wire soldered to it. It was obviously added later, the solder didn't look factory and there was a tiny hole drilled just big enough for the wire to pass through. My thinking is that someone had wired this so the ball completed the circut between the inner and outer ball track (which are metal) and that would count shot balls.
Ok now you electronic wizards have to figure it out from there cuz I haven't a clue.
Oh yeah, on the one cell there was also a ball sensor glued into a cut slot in the track for the payout motor (which most likely counted balls paid out).

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Maybe the cells were modified for arcade use? I always thought that little strip of metal that keeps the balls from going back down the ramp could be used like that.

Yeah the one cell had a real bad hack job on it, the other you couldn't really see it.

I added some thoughts on planned future enhancements for the Viewer software. You may find these interesting. Some of this came from one of our Canadian members who just purchased one. I think they are very good ideas and I plan on implementing them soon. I will let you know as I make progress. I would be interested in other Ideas you may have.

    http://pachicount.tammarproducts.com/PachiViewer.htm

None of this has anything to do with the PachiCount card. Its only a software change, and existing cards will support it.

I would still like to see if I can get them to work with a Pachinko machine. I'm seriously thinking of buying one. Maybe I can talk the wife into getting me one for X-Mas. I just bought a new 4-wheeler, so this may be a tough sell.

Sorry Tulsa, but I don't have any plans to build a MAC version as of yet. Everything I have is Windows right now, so even if I wanted to, I don't have the resources.

Doesn't MAC have a Windows emulation mode? There must be a lot of "Windows Only" applications that MAC users would not be able to use. I guess just like we Windows users can't run all them MAC apps I guess.

There's not much in life you can ever really count on as an absolute certainty, but me never running a windows emulator on my MAC is one of them you can count on.

Well, I don't think I would say there will never be a MAC version, but there are a couple things that will most certainly stand in the way.

    1. I've absolutely no experience with MACs. Is there a Windows based compiler that can take Visual Studio code and compile it for a MAC? If there is something out there like this, this issue could get solved.

    2. The code uses a 1-wire network from Dallas Semiconductors. I don't think their drivers are available for a MAC. This could be the bigger issue of the two.

How about tossing a couple of these on the pachitalk auction site?

I already have a web site put together, so really no reason to provide another method. Right?
