sinbad credit/payout mode problem

Hi there,
I bought my Sinbad Pachislo 2nd hand off ebay about a month ago and I've only just noticed this problem.

You know on the extreme left hand side of the control panel there is a red circular button that allows you to switch playing modes.

Generally, by pressing this button you can switch between winlines paying out or banking credits.
Problem is that when I press this button it doesnt switch modes.
The button is actually working because if I press it when there are credits then it pays out the tokens but it doesnt stay in payout mode if you see what I mean.

Im not aware of any settings that would affect this. Im a bit puzzled really!

I'm not sure about Sinbad...But two out of three of my machines Do the same thing. They can only collect 50 credits and then start paying out. This is normal for them (Gamera High Grade and King Camel). My Space Battleship Yamato can be switched to payout via the credit button.

yep. think it might just be the way it is. my beast sapp will switch though!
the kids prefer it when they get a payout, otherwise its like nothing is happening!

trouble is if I rack up 50 credits then my 3 year old presses the button all the tokens come crashing out and I have to start again

I don't know how it is on the Sinbad, but on some of the older machines you had to hold that button in for a few seconds for it to switch.

Won't hurt to try that, if you haven't already.

Most of the newer machines are max payout credit play only, but I have a Mitzho that can be switched, when you are at 0 credits it can be switched,
I can tell because the credit indicator turns off when it goes into payout mode.
The button pays out to zero if you have credits and hold it for about 4 seconds.

It was posted earlier that if you want to play credit only machine in payout mode to keep the credit full and add 3 tokens every spin to emulate payout mode. I do this to the wife to make her think I am winning more than her.

I have noticed this myself and have a solution the current switch is a simple momentary unit, the switch you want button that is an on/off type and is actually a locking switch similar to a ball point pen that clicks down and then up again. If you can find a switch to fit the hole that has that feature it should work,

Sinbad adventure will only play in the credit mode.

Actually I just tested the theory on the Franken sinbad I got from BB, it works! I swapped the button from a New Pulsar that has the feature and it works. I am thinking about changing all of my rental machines to be NO credit units as we speak.
