Default Pachislo (and pachinko) stands (UK)

I have found it mighty difficult to find (in the UK) Pachislo and/or Pachinko stands for my machines. The one's I do find are very expensive (over £80 = $130).

    BUT ......

I have finaly found the answer to my many machine problem - A perfectly dimensioned table (sold as a Hi-Fi stand) at ARGOS (a well known English store) and priced at £12.99!!!

So - UK owners - the ARGOS product code for this is 610/7378 and named "Verona Hi-Fi Unit." or here is the link :

They easly take the weight and pachislos fit perfectly - and my pachinko does as well!
No longer do I have to worry about what to stand my ever increasing collection on - at this price I can afford to buy more pachi's!!!!

    Thanks for that...

I usually buy that kind of furniture from Ikea as it is usually tested to take a greater weight - like my TV bench...but will bear the Argos one in mind.

Thanks for that, I looked at those a while back, but dismissed them as I didn't think they could take the weight. I'll know better for next time!

Great find, finally a cheap stand!! Would it be high enough to use with a bar stool do you think?

The stands may be a little low for the average bar stool. The stands are approx just over 3 foot high - Perfect hight for the average chair - i will post a picture later.

    Here is the pics....

To note, they are comfortable being played while being sat on an average dinning room chair (for example).

    Thanks!

I bought a couple they seem quite good and the machine fits perfectly! I'm still on the lookout for one that does not wobble so much and a bit higher though!

    Cheers

A bit of wobble never hurt anyone! Let's it absorb shocks from frustrated players not hitting a BONUS for hours on end...

I bought my first stand over a year ago and it is still going strong!

What has this comment got to do with regard to this particular stand?

Umm maybe the fact that you said your stands wobble?

Maybe if your stands wobble you should reinforce them. Sounds pretty damn straight foward to me.

Well, actually DT you did mention that you didn't like the wobble and Lucky was trying to be helpful.
You would be surprised that many members would just look for another stand instead of reinforcing the one they have for usually a fraction of the price of a new stand.
So these posts are for more than just those members who have this particular stand. Many stands wobble and if someone does a search for the word wobble they will now see this thread and it could help out another user.
So I would like to thank you for bringing up the fact that these have a wobble to them and I would like to thank Lucky for offering a solution.

I'm looking at a very low stand (only about 50cm tall but ideal for my purposes) from Argos, it's rated to hold 75kg (165lbs) and I reckon it'll just hold 2 Pachinkos. It's actually a glass and metal TV stand but I think it'll do.

The one thing that puts me off the stand you mentioned above is that these machines will be behind my bed. That being the case I really don't want to wake up to find a Pachinko has fallen on my face because the stand couldn't take it. Apart from the obvious pain I'd be forever finding stray balls in my bed and in my ears / nose.

You probably wouldn't wake up if one hit your head! Ouch! I bought a hi-fi unit from Ebay for around £20 - it doubles up as a drinks cabinet as well. I just waited for one local to come up that was the right height etc.

These stands have now gone down to £10.99!! I have also found a cheap low height stool for £5.00 from InStore (used to be Poundstretcher) which goes well with it!

    Cheers

I needed to find a stand for my machines and came across this in Ikea :

    Pachi Stand

Admittedly, its a little pricier than some of the other options and is almost the perfect height for the bar stool that I have (maybe an inch or two lower would have been more ideal, but thats easier than being too low!). It has also got 2 wheels on it for ease of moving into place. The table has an ideal surface area with about an inch all the way round spare.

Thought I'd pass this on. If anyone wants a pic of it installed, let me know.

If the link doesn't work, go to Ikea and search for "Bekvam". It's in the "Trolleys and serving tables" section.
