It looks like it plugs into the center connector (unknown use).

4 pin is remote reel stop, 10 is battle counter

Sorry for the delay, just got away from those dang aliens, anyway, the thing plugs into the 16 pin connector on top of the spin/stop board. The only connections between the boards is through pins 1,11,and 16. Now somewhere on the net I had ran across some data on the spin/stop boards and what the different pinouts are. I'll try to draw a wiring diagram of this thing.

Looks like 1 is ground and 11,16 connect to 6 which connects to 14 on the big connector on the other end of the board.

Hmm....so it looks like the little board gets a single fault output from the main system? There are no other connectors on the board that might have connected to something else?

Do you have a closeup pic of the board? I'd be interested in what other devices are on it besides the microcontroller.

Sorry but my good digital camera is history. I can not get a decent photo of the card with my old one. There are 2 connectors on the top. the left one is 4 pin and the right one is 2 pin. As I said earlier, there is only 3 connections between it and the Spin/stop board. I do not see where it would get it's power that way so I'm assuming that it would thru the 2 pin connector. I'm pretty sure this was something used by the parlor. While we're on the subject (Speedracer anyway) does anyone know of a replacement for the reel lamps. It uses 3 sets of 2 12v lamps (3 pair) wired in series. If one burns out you lose 2. They are the small type with the square white base (T5?), Has anyone come up with something better that one could get locally? I'm thinking of modifying the setup to use LED's or change to a screw in base where I could get bulds at RadioShack if need be.

musky....a while back we came up with a great fix for the pesky Eleco reel board/LED problem. websherpa found these nice white LEDs in a DIP package that look as good as, if not better than the originals. I'm not sure how the Speed Racer reel lighting works, but you can probably wire up something that will work using proto board and these LEDS with the appropriate circuit tapping off the 12v.

Scroll down to the white LEDs and look at the "whpir" ones.
