at first you want to kill them, you cuss rant and rave. but then after you get it all cleaned up, you will look at this pick in a year or so and laugh your arse off... Now from my wife's view point... "you should have put the paint up where they couldn't get to it....

I don't have kids, but I say.... This is the perfect time to let the kids know that as their parent, you'll love them all through life no matter what they my do, even if you don't like it. Of course you have to let them know that what they did isn't something you approve of (I'm guessing that part is taken care of by now).
Just love your kids and enjoy them while they're young!! I'll leave you with the words I always remember my mom saying... "Little kids, little problems.....big kids, BIG problems" Ya know, the older I got, the smarter my mom got!! I sure do miss her!!

This actually happened to my Mom when she had a few of the grandkids at her log cabin in the mountains. She was doing some outdoor painting chores and the kids wanted to "help". She gave them each a brush and explicit instructions. While my Mom went about her painting, the kids painted the fence. Then the kids painted the swing. Then the kids painted each other. Luckily, there was nothing of great value to be ruined and a bottle of vegetable oil got the paint out of their hair. Of course, my Mother hasn't been trusted with those particular grandkids ever since.

You know some mammals eat their young, and that may not be a bad idea. Perhaps when they are about 50 to 75 pounds might be a good size....
