This is an older thread but can't find the original about my son Tyler. As some know my son was diagnosed with leukemia when he was two years old. He is now five. His chemo is all done with and no longer has to take any. The final step other than a monthly blood test at the hospital was to have his port taken out. A port is like a main line that stays under the skin and can be accessed with a spacial needle. I am glad to say he had the port taken out and now he is all done. When they did the blood test just before the operation for the port they said his counts were just shy of normal. They said that is really good just being off chemo for a month. Just wanted to let everyone know. Thanks, Lazarus.
