    Default Need Help?....

    Hello,
Just received my volume controls from Pachislo.com (5 for $15), installed them on my Star Wars Pachinko and they work great !!!!! The problem is with my Winning Post Pachislo machine, I put one control on each of the speakers (3 total) and it does not make a difference? (The factory 3 way volume switch is on the lowest setting).... On the Winning Post machine there are a Yellow and White wire connecting the speakers instead of the Red & White on the Star Wars machine. I put the VC's on the yellow wire, What else can I do....Can this machine just be loud? These should have worked, Star Wars was crazy loud before the VC's were added....Please Help....

    Thanks,
    Joe

I was thinking that, but (3) of them, plus the other (2) were fine? They came all attached together and you have to break them off......Who knows? Someone has to have the answer......

Did you meter them to see if they are working? They have range of 0 to 500 ohms.

If the speakers on that machine are the piezo type, 500 ohms is not enough to quiet them sufficiently. 500 ohms does work well on the 8 ohm coil type speakers. You will need at least a 1000 ohm potentiometer adjusted to max resistance to begin to quiet a piezo speaker.

I recently got the same volume controls for my SeaStory pachislo.
Jay at pachislo.com e-mailed me and asked me to take pictures of the speakers because they never had a Sea Story in thier shop.

He claimed some machines use special speakers and that these volume controls would not work with them. Luckily Sea Story uses normal speakers.

(Ask Mark if you don't believe me.)

suggest you try a 1k resistor first then a larger one. if it works get the pot .resistors are dirt cheap (like 5 for a buck) pots will cost a lot more if your wrong . your solder joints are fine or youd get no sound at all or intermittent sound sounds like you have piezo speakers.

    Hello Again,
After reading all the above info, I am going to try to get a few 1000 ohm pots -- my local Radio Shack only carries the following? Please look at the link and let me know what will work....Thanks
